Parking is tough in this area, but the many Turkish patrons prove how authentic the food is. I've been lucky enough to visit Istanbul ten times over the years, and the food here is just excellent. Great service, very knowledgeable about what is good and not on the menu. Try to get a seat in the new enclosed porch in... More

Love the menu options and the food is great. Had an awesome soup the other day that I'm still daydreaming about! We sat in a new enclosed porch in the back - its surrounded by trees, full of windows, I felt like we were in a treehouse! Service is spotty - most often, the server has to be flagged down... More

I have eaten here at least 12 times in the past two years, and have never been disappointed. There's a reason you see Turkish families traveling from a 15-mile radius to diner here, despite the lack of parking. Also, I've brought friends and colleagues here from all parts of the country--California, Washington DC, etc. -- and all have said it's... More

As an appetizer I chose the zuchhini pancakes. While the sauce was tasty, the pancakes were undercooked, still very soggy and pasty in the middle. As an entree I got Hunkar Begendi with lamb, a classical Istanbul dish with lamb chunks cooked in tomato sauce, served on eggplant puree blended with cheese. The lamb and sauce were excellent, but the... More

Really enjoyed this place. We had a bunch of appetizers – hummus, caviar spread, eggplant chunks – all of which were good. My wife tried the Bronzino special which was a whole fish, with head and bones and all. It was very juicy, very simple. I liked it more than my Iskender (they were out of the lamb shank, my... More

We are regulars at this restaurant. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is relaxing with Turkish music to add to the mood. The service is excellent. I would highly recommend the salmon.

We went to this place 2 x within a month. The first time we were very impressed the lamb shank was incredible. We returned 2 weeks later and brought our son and his girlfriend. The lamb shank was good but the carrots and potatoes it was served with were not heated. It was painfully apparent they do not use fresh... More

We found this restaurant through Trip Advisor and it was a winner. The food was delicious - we had lamb shish kebab and doner (lamb and beef) shish kebab, plus an appetizer. The server was very friendly. We ate on the back covered porch with a distant view of the nyc skyline. We would definitely return if in the area.

Let me start by saying that I am biased, because I love Turkish food. I am Persian, but I believe that Turkish "restaurant" food if far superior to any Persian eatery around the world, including Iran itself. I have eaten Turkish food in Turkey, Europe, and in the United States and consider myself a gourmand in the subject, specially since... More
