Have had good experiences here in the past, but not this last time. The food was, as expected, delicious. Met or exceeded expectations. Our server was the main problem. Overly friendly. Joined in our conversation without being asked. Did everything but sit down and join us. The kicker was a 3% service charge if a credit card was used. This... More

French menu, French chef.......Food great, service was the greatest!!!!!!!! Prices were less than a comparable French meal in Phila. or N.Y. However there is a 3% charge if a credit card is used, which I was aware of.

Two friends and I decided to try Main Street Cafe for dinner for a little get together. We had lunch here previously and enjoyed it. First, although it is an older home, (and we love older homes), it is very poorly lit and hasn't much atmosphere. Tiny candles are on each table; that was the only light we had at... More

We dined at Main Street Cafe this past weekend and had a lovely experience. The food was excellent and within our party of six, here are the highlights: the grilled oysters (appetizer) was split between two people with each person wishing they did not have to share; softshell crabs in a cornmeal crust over corn salsa; the shrimp creole over... Excellent food ambiance and service. Everything was top of the line from the time we walked in to the time we left. Very expensive but worth it for a special occaison.

My husband and I were repeat customers when Main Street served lunch. We LOVED the lunch menu and the wait staff. Now that they have decided to only serve dinner we were really hoping for a similar experience. We were disappointed. The menu is a bit limited but our meals were good (not great). Portions were a good size but... More

Happened to find this gem of a restaurant by asking local merchants in Stone Harbor where they dine. Wow were we blown away! It is a small house off Rt. 9 in Cape May Courthouse, a short drive from Stone Harbor or Avalon. An added plus is that it is a Byob. According to a knowledgeable waitress the chef was... More

Main Street Café (a BYO) is what you would likely not expect to find in a small town like Cape May Courthouse. Situated in the lower level of an older house, the restaurant is comprised of three quaint rooms and a back porch for dining. It is owned and operated by Chef Serafino who transformed his once lunch-only business to... More

Be prepared to pay 3% surcharge for a good but overpriced meal f you only have a credit card. They won't let you know of their policy until you've been seated. Left a note to say we didn't appreciate their surcharge surprise. Owner called us at 10:30 that evening to tell us to take our business elsewhere and hung up!... More

The food was out of this world! Everyone at our party was raving about their dishes. We made the trip from Philly to come here. They may even cater our wedding!
