Great meal great atmosphere

Up scale dining with great views and goos atmosphere. Drinks a bit pricey but it is a higher end restaurant so that didn't shock me. Good portions and both our meals full of flavor. This was our first time here and it wont be our last.

Axelsson's serves a fabulous meal. I always love going there. But the real WOW is their happy hour in the bar...in which they serve up Prussian Pearls at half price. Prussian Peals are oysters on the half shell topped with a drop of pepper vodka followed by a dollop of sour cream and chopped red onion and caviar. Pure heaven!!... More

We came here by recommendation. After being seated at a table with a nice view of the marina we met our server Steven who was delightful. He knew the menu very well and wax happy to make suggestions. We got the Imperial trio and the sea bass. The foid was good but nothing to write home about. We will probably... More

First time at the restaurant after driving by it for many years. We went with our neighbors who regularly go. Food and service was great. Being in Cape May you would expect some view but there is none. Nevertheless the food is very good and the bar is a great place to grab a drink beforehand. All our food was... More

My husband and another couple were headed out to dinner. At the last moment I changed our restaurant destination to Axelsson's Blue Crab! So glad I did. We sat in the "Pub" area since it was not yet 5 PM. We were greeted by our server Julie and ordered a round of drinks. We loved the "Pub" and decided to... More

My sister-in-law made the reservation and requested a table for 4 in the window section facing the boats. She was told that the seats could not be reserved. WHY HAVE RESERVATION! When we arrived 15 minutes early, were escorted to a table in the middle of the upper floor and right out side the rest room and not in the... More

As the name implies this place serves fresh crab. In fact, I rate their crab cakes the best in New Jersey! Everyone says their crab cakes have little filler; this place uses almost none. Their menu features a wide range of seafood. I had the grouper and it was perfect. Their wine list is moderately priced and their service is... More

We were sitting in the pool of our home at 4:45 P M. When Art said to me, "you know what I could eat right now--some Cape May Salts." I asked if he wanted to go to one of a few spots close by that served them, but in response he said they are all too expensive and not always... More

Ate here years ago and had a good time so I am not sure why I didn't go back until now. Perhaps it is because though it is located in Cape May it isn't actually in town. It is between the Cape May bridge and Cape May. That is actually a good thing because they have a parking lot which... More

My wife and I went for our annual sojourn to Axelsson's Blue Claw and once again were wowed. We started out in their spectacular bar where we had a drink and split a 1/2 dozen Delaware Bay oysters which were excellent. (we tend to like smaller cold water oysters from Cape Cod and north) Then we were seated and proceeded... More
