very good food and atmosphere

We ate at the Merion Inn for dinner last fall. The food was very good and they had a pianist playing music. The only complaint I had is that we ordered a dessert and it was extremely small, especially for the price. The other desserts looked bigger though (we got some kind of chocolate cake).

We were looking for a Lobster tail dinner like we used to get a few decades ago. We found that the Merion Inn offered even though it while not all the time listed on the menu. The lobsters were broiled and were delicious accompanied by a starch of your choice and vegetable. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was... More

We made reservations for closing-night of the season. We'll miss this restaurant 'till they re -open in the Spring. Hubby loves to watch the bartender make a martini; it's like watching an artist at work. We didn't mind waiting for a table, since the bar area always has a congenial atmosphere. A plus is the live piano in the bar... More

I really enjoyed the food and great location. Prime rib was very well prepared. My husband didnt care for his dish and they removed it from the bill without even asking. The other couple we went with loved their meals as well (filet mignon and a seafood dish).

We had Christmas eve dinner, the INN had a 4-course special menu. The variety to select was amazing, champagne toast with chef hors d'oeuvres, apprtizer I had shrimp cocktail dipping sauce on a bed of tomato and avocado salsa, wife had wild mushroom feuillete in puff pastry great, entrees out of this world - pan seared cape may scallops and... The fixed price Christmas dinner is a wonderful way to spend the holiday. The entree selection is broad and wide and the lobster & crab imperial is particularly outstanding. While the wait staff was a bit stressed by the crowded dining room, they were cheerful throughout the evening. A complimentary picture and a cd of Christmas music from the in-house... More

We just returned from Christmas dinner at the Merion Inn and we won't be going back. And we are locals! We had to wait about 40 minutes for our reserved table. Once seated we had to almost tackle the waiter to order. They were way too understaffed and he was very stressed. All the servers were running around like crazy.... More

The Merion Inn is lovely. We especially enjoy stopping in for an after dinner drink and listening to the piano player. Very relaxing atmosphere.

Our handsome waiter, Robert, couldn't have been better! A great smile and great service. He was very professional and informative. The food was outstanding! I had the surf and turf. Best filet mignon I've ever had! My husband had seafood risotto and loved every drop of it. The portion sizes are just right. The atmosphere is great and the building... More
