My wife and I ate at the Merion Inn in Cape May. It is a beautiful place, with nice background music. I had the scallops which were fine. The service was satisfactory. However, my wife, who is gluten sensitive, had a hard time ordering a real dinner. One of the entrees was a Mediterranean medley of vegetables made with Couscous.... More

This was our final night dining experience to wind up a mother/daughter weekend. Food was very good, and table service was good. The downside was a bit of a wait for a table, even though we made reservations way in advance. When we were finally seated, we were put next to an extremely large table of noisy diners in a... More

The Merion Inn has great food and service. My husband is particularly fond of the "Merion stuffed flounder." The piano player adds a joyful experience to the meal.

This might have been an off day for this restaurant and some of its staff ,but starting from the Valet who parked my car about ten foot from where I was encouraged to surrender my keys, to the moody waitress who served our party of four once she discovered we were all eating a light dinner and would not be... This was my favorite dining experience in Cape May. The service, atmosphere, and the food were all excellent. Results may vary, but we went post-Labor Day and were immediately seated at 5 with no reservation. There were only 3 other couples there. They make an amazing Franchese. Can't wait to go back next summer!

We walked in without a reservation and we're seated promptly. The restaurant was crowded but not completely sold out. Our server was attentive and we received water, our drinks and bread almost immediately. We ordered the prime rib and the seafood risotto special. Both were excellent. The prime rib was ordered medium rare and was right on, moist and tender.... More

Crab imperial and Cape May go together. The Merion did not disappoint. It was all blue crab lump meat, no claw meat and it was not watered down. The atmosphere harkens back to an earlier year. It appears to be a conversion of a former home with the porches closed in. I find it a bit confining. Service was very... More

The Merion Inn is beautiful. It has a great location, in Cape May. It has a wonderful bar and ambience. The problem is the quality of the food has been declining for years. While the menu is limited, the food is often overcooked (a killer for seafood), and this restaurant, always one of my favorites, has been resting on it's... More

The meal was just average but the price was what you would expect to pay for a better than average dining experience. Since they will probably not be cutting their prices in half they should improve the service and quality of the food.
