very good food and atmosphere

We ate at the Merion Inn for dinner last fall. The food was very good and they had a pianist playing music. The only complaint I had is that we ordered a dessert and it was extremely small, especially for the price. The other desserts looked bigger though (we got some kind of chocolate cake).

We picked Merion's for dinner on our final evening in Cape May partly to try the menu, partly to enjoy some music, and we weren't disappointed on either count. Food-wise, the farm market salad (greens, asparagus, scallions, and pearl pasta) was almost a meal in itself; my wife's filet mignon was cooked perfectly and accompanied by a tasty au poivre... Went to the Merion Inn to have one of their famous Cape May Diamond martinis and was not disappointed, as usual. It was made by my favorite bartender, Carol. She is not only a great bartender, but a wonderful person as well. She is there on Friday nights, so if you want a great martini (or any drink for that... More

This is the first holiday meal I have ever had that was not prepared at home. It was outstanding. Hannah our server was attentive and friendly. This was not my first meal at the Merion Inn and it will not be the last.

Went there last Sunday, not too impressed for the price. Menu a little misleading. Their list of $18.99 meals also included one for $6.00 more. However, they did correct it on the bill. Had their country salad, very soggy, mushy. Also told them about it. Perhaps they wil correct the menu and salad, not likely to return.

My friend and I spent a short weekend at Congress Hall. We wanted to sample as much of Cape May as possible in that time frame, so we decided to leave the hotel and eat at The Merion Inn. I definitely recommend this place for dinner. Décor is Victorian. From the time we were greeted at the front door, to... More

We were looking for a Lobster tail dinner like we used to get a few decades ago. We found that the Merion Inn offered even though it while not all the time listed on the menu. The lobsters were broiled and were delicious accompanied by a starch of your choice and vegetable. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was... More

We made reservations for closing-night of the season. We'll miss this restaurant 'till they re -open in the Spring. Hubby loves to watch the bartender make a martini; it's like watching an artist at work. We didn't mind waiting for a table, since the bar area always has a congenial atmosphere. A plus is the live piano in the bar... More

I really enjoyed the food and great location. Prime rib was very well prepared. My husband didnt care for his dish and they removed it from the bill without even asking. The other couple we went with loved their meals as well (filet mignon and a seafood dish).
