One of our Cape May faves!

We usually visit Aleathea's twice each time we go down to Cape May. I'm a big fan of their salmon dish and actually had it twice this last visit. They make a great margarita and the coffee is really good. I also love that they don't over charge for the kids meal. I love the charm of the... read more

Hit or miss with dinner. Some dishes very good, others mediocre and others not good at all. Outdoor seating is on chintzy side for cost of food where you're sitting on typical plastic chairs and tables you'd find at a quick on the beach cafe. Lovely rocking chair porch where you could wait for a table but smokers drive you... More

Food was ok, but the service was poor. The employees were uninviting and cold. There are plenty of restaurants in Cape May that are more welcoming and friendly.

Alathea's has good food and fun atmosphere, with good beach views. They have a large dining room, and after dinner be sure to wander through their lobby area, which looks like a museum of Victorian times--especially the scary elevator. Alathea's has a full bar, which is somewhat unusual at Cape May. I had the Thai Bowl, which was terrific.

Made reserv for Tues at 5:30 for the. 3 course early bird. After sitting down I asked for the early bird menu. The hostess told me we had to be seated by 5:30 (it was 5:40).I told her it was listed on the website and the menu posted outside that the early bird was from 5 to 6pm.She replied that... More

This is the second year in a row that we dined at Althea's Restaurant, and we were very pleased. The food is fresh, well presented, and most important, hot food is hot and cold food is cold. The atmosphere is all Victorian, but comfortable (thanks to modern AC units). The menu is varied, so there is truly something for everyone.... More

This was one of the worst meals I have had in years. I ordered Ahi tuna and got something resembling a frozen and thawed piece of shoe leather. My companion got something with lobster that also tasked like Gorton's frozen food... pure rubber. The service was also terrible. Our waitress kept disappearing and it was not even busy. Several times... More

Great food and outstanding service. Smokers are an issue. The restaurant has a large outdoor area that is monopolized by smokers.

Went on July 4th as we have for several years due to beachfront location, with a later reservation to watch the fireworks from the corner table in the enclosed porch dining room. Friendly service, allowing us to go to bar for a round. Great service, sorry I forget your name! food choices are good selection and overall we were happy... More

Aleathea's is located inside the historic Inn of Cape May that was built in 1894. Enjoy drinks on the beautiful veranda or the lovely lawn. The historic lobby at the hotel is filled with antiques and pictures of Cape May during the Victorian era. The restaurant is one of the best deals in Cape May for good beachfront dining. Try...
