Fresh organic food that has a long history in Cape May

I have been coming to Louisa's for about 30 years. The menu doesn't change a lot but the dishes are always wonderful. I usually get the crabcakes while my wife likes their salmon and blufish. All dishes come with brown rice and a cole slaw. Both salads and desserts are outstanding. When we... read more

The three stars are influenced by the many prior visits with prompt, attentive service, friendly conversation with (very close) neighboring tables, a delicious fresh seafood meal followed by some sort of homemade convection for dessert. At least this time we had the friendly conversation. If the review was based on our last visit, three stars would be generous. The ginger... More

We always enjoy dinner at Louisa's whenever we are in Cape May. Our recent dinner was the first time we have been there since the remodeling. What an improvement in atmosphere. The dining area is almost double the original space. The walls and ceilings have been repainted which really brightens the space. The friendly service and great food has not... More

Louisa's is a wonderful place to eat in Cape May NJ. The place is small, which adds to its charm, and the menu is on a large wall chalk board and changes daily. It a farm to table restaurant which makes the dishes very fresh. The portions were perfect, no one had anything left on their plate and we were... More

When in a shore community with such a vibrant fishing business, the last thing I want for dinner is seafood shipped from other parts of the world. I want to eat fresh local food without fancy preparations. Louisa's fits the bill perfectly. The blackboard changes bases on what the catch was. You don't have to ask is it fresh...it all... More

i have been coming to Cape May for some time and was looking forward to finally eating here. We had a reservation & still waited about 1/2 an hour to be seated. We must've had the same waitress as dephalp (review "pass on this") and pretty much had the same experience. Service was not good; not a friendly atmosphere. The... More

Finally had the opportunity to eat in Louisa's on a recent visit to Cape May and I will not be returning. First, our party of 4 had to wait 30 minutes outside to be seated; no one appeared once to let us know they were keeping an eye on us nor did they offer to keep our wine chilled. When... More

I ate at Louisa's last week with another couple and we were very disappointed. I was in and out the door in 50 minutes (and that included dessert). We felt very rushed. The servers were friendly, but the food was tasteless and the place was unsanitary. My utensils were touching the table after it was wiped down with a communal... More

Most of the ingredients come from a local farm and the menu changes based on what's in season. It was a very relaxed atmosphere. The service was great, the food was fresh and prepared well, and the prices were fair. There was a lot of fish on the menu, with two vegetarian options. I don't know if there is more... More
