Description: The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh...
The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh. Executive Chef Jeremy Einhorn has implemented a delicious farm-to-table menu featuring fresh produce, herbs and eggs from our very own Beach Plum Farm, located less than 2 miles from the restaurant! In the warmer months, dine on our wonderful, secluded patio. In the cooler months, cozy up to our magnificent dining room fireplace. The Blue Pig Tavern drives its name from a gambling parlor sited at Congress Hall in the mid 1800's. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May.

Food was better than average

We were seated in a very dark part of the restaurant near the fireplace. I needed to use my iPhone flashlight to read the menu. My friends and I all enjoyed our meal. The restaurant was clean and wait staff friendly and efficient. Bread was fresh and delicious. It is located in town and convenient for shopping before or after eating.

Enjoyed a nice breakfast on a recent stay at Congress Hall. We sat in the porch area which was nice albeit a bit warm. Service was very friendly and attentive which was a nice complement to the meal. We always enjoy dining at the Blue Pig-we prefer breakfast and lunch there. Prices are reasonable and the food is consistently good.

There was a table of out of control drunks adjacent to us. They were visibly intoxicated when seated. The staff kept serving them despite their loud yelling, cursing, and abusive nature. They even tried to get out of their bill. Not once did a manager walk through the dining room during this time of over an hour. And the staff... More

Not sure what happened to this place... We used to drive 2 hours just for the food. My husband and I order the same burger but it had no flavor.

We had a delicious breakfast at the Blue Pig. Only at the hotel a short time, so was unable to try lunch or dinner. The breakfast was delicious. They have a farm where the grow the veggies, make their own almond butter,etc...Loved it!

My wife and I visited the blue pig tavern for the first time last week. It is located in Congress hall a turn off the century hotel on the beach block in historic cape may. The restaurant is two parts inside being the tavern you would expect right down to the fireplace while the porch is a white washed room... More

the fireplace was beautiful and breakfast was great. We were able to eat breakfast in casual clothes and that was very relaxing.
