Description: The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh...
The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh. Executive Chef Jeremy Einhorn has implemented a delicious farm-to-table menu featuring fresh produce, herbs and eggs from our very own Beach Plum Farm, located less than 2 miles from the restaurant! In the warmer months, dine on our wonderful, secluded patio. In the cooler months, cozy up to our magnificent dining room fireplace. The Blue Pig Tavern drives its name from a gambling parlor sited at Congress Hall in the mid 1800's. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May.

Very overrated...and being Congress Hall, this should be a 4 or 5 star place. Service and food is ALWAYS hit or miss, and for the prices at this place...it shouldn't be.

We'll stop here every time we come down to Cape May, one of our favorite destinations. The service was super and the Christmas decor was outstanding!

Delicious food in a brightly-colored pub-like atmosphere made for a delightful and generous meal, where we were clearly not the only guests at 8 o'clock on a Sunday night! We'd happily go back.

Great oysters rock and entrees. Nice setting in the historic Congress Hall hotel. Outside seating for nice weather and grand fireplace for the cooler months.

Nice cozy dining room- request a table by the fire in cold weather for an extra dose of atmosphere. The mussels with chorizo are not to be missed- highlight of dinner. Shrimp and grits deemed very good, as was the pepperadalle- although it had a slightly unusual flavor (cloves or cinnamon maybe?)- still very good, just different from what you... More

Great meals and super service. We'll go back! Both dinner and breakfast were very good! We especially liked sitting and eating in front of the fireplace at dinner. The wooden chairs are a bit uncomfortable and breakfast is slightly high priced but that is the only negative I can come up with. Food was excellent and server the same!
