There are many fine restaurants in Cape May but we were looking for relaxed atmosphere, a beer and some decent food. Ugly Mug had it all. The staff is just fun and friendly. Their clam chowder was delicious and actually had clams in it:) My husband had the crab cake (not my favorite but he loved it). I had the... More

Stopped for lunch on the first warm Saturday in March and the place was packed. Small mountain of tasty chilli cheese fries and a delicious hot reuben sandwich. Service was polite, friendly and prompt. Ask you server for the complete history behind the mugs. Pretty neat idea. We had fun. You will too.

The Ugly Mug had a decent beer and drink list along with some great specials that actually were cheaper than a majority of the items on their regular menu. The food was very good and the atmosphere is what you would expect from a pub atmosphere. It was definitely getting louder and a little crazy as the night was going... More

Food was really poor quality - tough to do with a hamburger and a French dip. Beer selection was very good - they should stick to beer.

I am a local of cape may so I'm very familiar with all the bars of cape may county. I usually don't go to the Ugly Mug because they are very expensive, I rather just go down the street to Cabana's or Carney's which are my two favorite places for night life during the off season. It was my best... More

...typical bar food. A great place to stop while shopping in the Washington Street Mall area, but don't go out of your way to eat here.

We were looking forward to stopping by the Ugly Mug after a ten-year layoff with friends who had never been there. Had a quick drink and decided to leave and go next door to the PILOT HOUSE. My wife and I LOVE dive bars but, for whatever reason, the place seemed pretty disheveled and the noise was incredible for a... More

We head to the Ugly mug on our casual day during vacation and find the place a nice change of pace for regular draft beer, sandwiches and burgers. Service is hit or miss depending on who waits on your table and the place is usually loud. We can go here and relax without any expectations of excellent anything - just... More

While on a weekend stay we came here every day. The food was great, staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was really neat. MUGS everywhere! I'm honestly a picky person when it comes to eating wings and theirs were very good. Now whenever I go to Cape May I will be stopping in to the Ugly Mug.
