We visit the Jersey Shore every year to spend the Holidays with our family and our trip would not be complete without dining at the Washington Inn. After reading some of the prevoius reviews I felt compelled to write my very first review of a restaurant. As you pull up to the restaurant you are greeted by complimetary valet service... more

Staff could not have been more professional. We were seated promptly for our Saturday night reservations. Waiter was knowledgeable and friendly and efficient. The restaurant is a warren of rooms and hallways that has seen better days. We were seated in an unattractive greehouse area that felt like I was eating out back in the garage. Patrons mostly elderly and... more

The food was quite good. The wine list was amazing, with many high priced trophy selections, but there were also a few very good values on the list. This restaurant seems to be rated tops for romance, but to be honest, I found the dining rooms to be oddly quiet and the decor dated. more

The food we experienced on the visit to The Washington Inn on September 7 2009, for our wedding anniversary was, at best indifferent, or worse and more realistically, just very poor! The cooks clearly have no idea about seasoning food or how to prepare Italian food. My wife’s starter of Parma ham, cheese, salad and Tuscan toast and this all... more

This place is definitely in the top ten of restaurants I've eaten at in my entire life. Absolutely wonderful food. My husband and I dined there for our first wedding anniversary, after hearing that it was one of the best places in Cape May. The inn is beautiful, very cozy and warm and it just makes you feel at home... more

This was the second restaurant I visited while vacationing in Cape May with family. Seating was terrible because we were placed right in front of the exit from the kitchen then moved to a table in the corner that was only for two, but there were three of us and it was freezing (I needed a winter coat). The restaurant... more

The food was amazing. My husband and I got the cowboy steak which was incredible (w. the onions and gorgonzola), the halibut, the beet salad and the scallops. The scallops were a rip off at 12 bucks for 2 of them. Other than that everything else was incredible and was worth the money. I did not mind spending what I... more

Despite the ceiling leaking slightly on my friend at the table, the waiter spilling a drink on table and myself, another waiter on his hands and knees with a flashlight looking under our table for a lost credit card and never getting our dessert but the check instead, what can I say? We still all had wonderful meals. It definitely... more

Probably Cape Mays best. The food is great and the service elegant. However, the only place in town where I feel I should have worn a jacket. They take reservations so there is no long wait. I wouldn't take children - under 21. Also I think large groups with the attendent noise would be out of place. more

Warm, cozy atmosphere; delicious food (my partner said it was the best meal she had ever had); great and suprising wines; creative cocktails --- overall an excellent dining experience. It's not cheap, but the prices are certainly worth it. I was not impressed by the service, however in observing other waitstaff who were very attentive to their tables, I think... more
