If you want fine dining in Cape May this is your spot. They have a great bar too. Make a reservation! There are many small dining rooms to sit in. Every meal I ever had was wonderful here. At times they have BYOB Sunday which is nice if you enjoy your wine! Saves you money too.

Reading all the “excellent” reviews on TA, we thought this would be a slam dunk of a good restaurant. After having Saturday night dinner here, we thought we must have been at another Washington Inn because the experience we had could not be farther from excellent! First, we arrived a bit early for our 6:30pm reservation (6:15). The young hostess... More

My husband and I had dinner here this past Saturday evening. Arrived early and had oysters and wine at the bar. My husband said by far they were the very best oysters he has ever had. The atmosphere at the Washington Inn could not be nicer. It starts to get crowded around 7:00 pm, Valet parking is a plus expecially... More

I didn't make it to Washington Inn last year, but did get there last week. Oysters Rock were not the traditional way, so I was a little disappointed. Meyers steak was delicious. It was strange that Shawn, our waiter, when telling us his favorites said "filet mig non". We had him repeat it, because we thought we heard him wrong.... More

Fantastic dinner and service. I had the sea bass which was the special. No bones, it was delicious. My partner had the lobster which was a 1lb South African lobster tail. Expensive but worth the splurge if u love lobster and are hungry. Finished the meal with apple crisp. Our waiter was James who was personable and professional. Definitely put... More

This is such an elegant place to dine in Cape May. The service is top notch. Four of us throughoughly enjoyed our meals here, which ranged from lamb, to flat fish, to shell fish. The only thing that could have improved our experience to make it excellent would have been a more dignified entrance for the diner in our party... More

If you are visiting Cape May this is definitely a place you do not want to pass up. The décor is inviting and the food is outstanding. Make sure you make a reservation or you might have to wait for a while to get a table.

I've been visiting Cape May for 26 Years--as long as I've been alive! The Washington Inn never disappoints. With it's romantic atmosphere, impeccable service, and exquisite food, this is my favorite restaurant in Cape May and probably one of the top 10 I've visit in my life, and I've been to several countries, and more than half of the United...
