This is such an elegant place to dine in Cape May. The service is top notch. Four of us throughoughly enjoyed our meals here, which ranged from lamb, to flat fish, to shell fish. The only thing that could have improved our experience to make it excellent would have been a more dignified entrance for the diner in our party... More

If you are visiting Cape May this is definitely a place you do not want to pass up. The décor is inviting and the food is outstanding. Make sure you make a reservation or you might have to wait for a while to get a table.

I've been visiting Cape May for 26 Years--as long as I've been alive! The Washington Inn never disappoints. With it's romantic atmosphere, impeccable service, and exquisite food, this is my favorite restaurant in Cape May and probably one of the top 10 I've visit in my life, and I've been to several countries, and more than half of the United... The bar has $5 wine specials and food specials as well. The food was absolutely wonderful and the bar was hopping with excitement. I would definitely return when visiting Cape May in the future.

we have been coming to Cape May for over 25 years & many times have enjoyed dinner at The Washington Inn. We visited the restaurant on September 29, 2014. We made a reservation mid August. We arrived at 8:05 for an 8:15 time. The bar was so crowded that we could not get near to get a drink. Very disappointing... More

My family loves the wine bar. The cheese platter is to die for! Whenever we come into to town can't wait to go to the Washington Inn.

This is a really nice restaurant with a great, reasonably priced wine list (200% mark-up in most cases; corkage is available at $20/bottle). It's beautiful inside and out. The food is excellent, but somehow seems to meld into a large group of high-quality restaurants: Been there, done that. Nothing really outstanding or unusual. The server was great, with great patter.... More

We love the “wine bar” at the Washington Inn. Wine is served perfectly chilled. The appetizer are to die for. Some of the best has been cheese board, stuffed dates, etc. I have to say the bills are always reasonable. The Washington Inn restaurant is great but the wine bar is my favorite.

This was our first time back in a few years and it is still one of the best restaurants in Cape May. My wife had the lobster and shrimp bisque and crab cakes, while I had the Boston and Frisée salad (frisée was sadly absent) and the espresso rubbed duck breast. The food was outstanding, our waiter friendly and attentive,... More
