Lush Luxury in Cape May

I have been going to The Washington Inn for many, many years. I've NEVER had a bad meal or poor service. They pay attention to every detail. They have one of the best wine cellars I've ever seen. Even their bartender, Marty, is as classic as they come. Always a pleasure.

This is a classic example of the quaintness of Cape May. I love the town and enjoy coming here when visiting Wildwood. It's a short drive and well worth it. The food is quite good. Prices are on high side so be forewarned. Quite like casino steakhouse dining w/o the comp. Steaks were great and the atmosphere is inviting. One... More

Such a classic Cape May restaurant that never disappoints. Crab cakes were awesome and the chocolate tower was too die for! We'll return again next time we're in town.

From the welcome, service, food and wine, atmosphere, and neighborhood you cannot get any better on the Jersey Coast. Love walking home after a relaxing, sumptuous evening at Washington Inn.

Over rated and pricey. They also act like they are the best place in town. Don't get me wrong, its now a bad place, and a must try at least once, but I have eaten here 4 times, and its 3 stars to me. Nothing great, nothing bad.

We had been to the Washington Inn before only for a large party, which they did very well. We went for a family dinner & found it to be superb. I had a wild mushroom polenta appetizer which was one of the specials for the evening. Very creamy & delicious. The local swordfish dish was moist, tender, perfectly seasoned &... More

We go here evertime we visit Cape May. They never let us down and for years have had a consistently great menu.

Wait staff was fast and very sharp. The restaurant was full and busy but never appeared to be crowded. The center cut rib steak was a little tough at medium well but the flavor was the best and the scallop dish was just right. It was a nice touch to have the owner stop by and introduce himself.

We had dinner here last night and I must say our Valentine's Day couldn't have been any better! The restaurant is very classy, the food was fantastic, & the service was exceptional. Since it was our first time the waiter brought us this unbelievable appetizer on the house - Sardine paste with a watermelon radish over crostini bread. I has... More

Ate here with my husband and two friends last weekend. Two of us had the filet, which was honestly tasteless and the potatoes were flat. Good wine and good service. The restaurant was half empty because it was severely cold outside and Cape May is pretty deserted in January. But we expected a great meal and it just wasn't. My... More
