The Washington inn has a long and glorious history of fine food and fine wine. Through the years of going there, we have enjoyed the food, wine and excellent service. Recently we took friends there and were disappointed. The service was excellent. The wine was fine. The food was edible but not enough to cause us to return. To be... More

We had the duck breast and flat-iron steak - both were delicious. Good selection of beers and wines. There was a good crown so I'm glad we made reservations and were seated immediately. Valet parking is suggested.

We dine at the Washington in about once every month or two and find it to be a reliable and consistent option. We were glad to have the opportunity to dine here last Saturday night as last year it did not serve dinner during the winter. This is not a gourmet restaurant, but we find the portions, quality and preparation... More

The Washington Inn has been a well established high end restaurant for many years in Cape May. It is operated by a very restpectable and professional local family that also owns Cape May Winery and Lucky Bones and offers top notch catering services. Unfortunatly the restaurant part of the establishment has been slipping over the past few years and is... More

We were lucky to dine at the Washington Inn on a Saturday night in January. We started with the braised lamb and cavatelli pasta, a delightful umami treat. Then we devoured the seafood cioppino, which was filled with fresh local seafood, and the duck breast, which was twice what I could eat. The shitake bread pudding and sautéed spinach were... More

A group of us went for dinner on Saturday night. Very busy so recommend you have a reservation even in the off season. I had chipotle shrimp and then octopus. It was so well done. My friend has local oysters and raved about them. Service was engaging and attentive. Creme brulee was a nice finish to the meal.

I recently had dinner at the Washington Inn with a small group of friends. The dining experience here was generally impressive, though a couple of the servers need a bit more training. First the positives (of which there are many!) - upon arriving for our reservation, we were welcomed warmly and promptly seated. Our main server was standout - she... More

OK. It's not cheap. That said, I'd save up and go again easily. Best Lamb I remember and good cocktails. I can see why others have rated this place so highly. (And those who haven't puzzle me.)

The Washington Inn was a very nice surprise, it had been recommended by friends who had been there years ago, The food was well prepared [standouts- crab cake, Cape May Oysters, strip steak] and very nicely presented on a lovely enclosed "porch" room. The service was a bit unprofessional, but that could be because it was off season? The sommelier... More
