While on a weekend visit to Cape May during some terrible rainy weather, this place was recommended to us by some locals. Looking for someplace to "ride out the storm" we got there just in time for happy hour. The place was filled with locals, all of whom seemed to know each other. Although from out of state, we were... We went to the Pilot House one night for dinner during a "girls weekend." The food and drinks were affordable, especially for Cape May standards. The dinners tasted fresh and were really yummy! Our server was just delightful...so engaging and welcoming. We appreciated the live music and the casual atmosphere. We'll certainly be back the next time we're in Cape... More

The locals steered me to this restaurant on a cold March night during the off season. They were right. The food is really good and the atmosphere and staff are warm and friendly. It has the typical nautical theme of a beach bar/restaurant. There's homemade soups & chili on the menu. Their burgers are voted the best in town. You... More

We stopped in here with long-time friends for dinner and a drink...and stayed for a couple of more hours! It was an open-mike night, apparently, and we enjoyed the entertainment. The food we ordered was delicious (New England Clam Chowder, Buffalo Shrimp, and Crabcakes), the Guinness was poured perfectly, and everyone in the restaurant and bar area seemed to be... More

On a recent trip to Cape May, we had dinner at the Pilot House. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise. Although not crowded, there were several locals at the bar. Coupled with the lit fireplace in the dining room, it added to the "down home" ambiance. Our server Denise was friendly and pleasant and the food was excellent. I had... More

Have only ate at the bar for apps or a burger. Burgers were excellent everything else was good/average. Bartenders are always very nice and friendly. Good non-patronizing conversation. Cant' talk on the table dining but would highly recommend a beer and a burger at the bar. Also a nice comfortable vibe.
