We stopped in here for lunch on a beautiful day (we went in the back by the Ugly Mug) because we saw lunch specials. I had the steak sandwich, and my mate had the house burger. OMG! The beef is so good, the staff is awesome, and they change it up to keep it fresh. For example, we had a... More

I have many good meals at the Pilot House over many years. Maybe it was an off night but it was about the worst meal I have ever had in Cape May. The fish and chips evidently was a poor choice on my part. I expected crispy, lightly battered fish. What arrived were four pieces of heavily battered, soggy, over... More

Read their menu on line. We wanted soup and share a sandwitch. The menu was different and the prices a bit more. We ordered french onion soup and the New England clam chowder. Both soups were different then the same ol' thing. They both had an extra special taste to them. The fried fish sandwitch we shared, was tasty, the... More

Was looking for early bird dinners in the area and came across the Pilot House menu posted outside. My husband and I decided to try it because we both found entrees on the menu we thought we'd like. There were about 5 choices. I had the pan seared salmon over broccoli rabe and roasted red peppers with fingerling potatoes, my... More

We dined here on a Friday night in October. We were seated at 5:45. Didn't get our meals until 6:45. We were a party of 5 and there were literally 8 other people in the entire restaurant. The food just okay. They has early bird specials at a decent price but if you're going to sit there and wait for... More

Had been going there for years and enjoying the local crowd but was very disappointed when I went back this summer. The usual friendly faces were gone and didn't recognize anyone behind the bar. Despite the initial shock we stayed and grabbed a bite to eat. The menu had changed, but not drastically, the food was OK, service was disappointing.... More

We were a party of five coming for off-season dinner on Saturday night. We had a reservation and were seated right away, with our server Ronnie arriving moments after. He really made our experience---he was friendly, funny, and helpful. All of the food we ordered came out quickly (but not too quickly since we had asked to linger over drinks... More

Having eaten at the Pilot House in the past and found it a bit "old and dingy", this was an improved experience. In town to visit my son at USCG Station, we wanted to go somewhere and watch some football. We opted for the Pilot House based on the owner of our hotel saying he had just come from there... More

the Pilot House was bought by Peter Shields and this is the first time we've eaten here since the transition. A very positive experience. It's bright and clean, good service, good food. We were pleasantly surprised.

We had a family dinner her on a Saturday night and it was my first time dining at the Pilot House. The décor is very plain and not very appealing, fish tanks adorn the walls and there is a large wraparound bar that greets you when you arrive off of the street. The bartender was nice and the cosmopolitans were... More
