We had a family dinner her on a Saturday night and it was my first time dining at the Pilot House. The décor is very plain and not very appealing, fish tanks adorn the walls and there is a large wraparound bar that greets you when you arrive off of the street. The bartender was nice and the cosmopolitans were... More

This was my second visit for dinner at the Pilot House. We went early on Friday evening and were pleasantly surprised that they offered a 3-course early bird dinner from 4-6 for $12.99!! This was amazing! We had hot rolls, a nice little mixed green salad, choice of about 8 entrees (I had the salmon and my mom had the... More

Pilot House food was very good in the past and now it’s even better. The Peter Shield’s Inn, rated #1 restaurant in Cape May, bought Pilot House and the new chef is doing a great job. Everyone in our party of eight enjoyed complimentary, freshly baked bread and an appetizer of Artichoke & Spinach Dip with Tortilla Chips. The drinks... More

We always have eaten at the pilot house for our family reunion weekend in cape may. We took a quick trip down in July...everything was awful! We were given a gift card with the promise that when we returned in September it would be better...it wasn't!!! Same bad food same bad menu same bad service! We WONT be back again!

Had a reservation, waited forty minutes, then told they could not accommodate us. Seated our party at two different tables. Hostess was the worse I have ever encountered. No apology, just a blank look of indignation. Food arrived late, waitess offered no apology. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had.

Forget it...This was our second time to try the NEW Pilot House...Two strikes and your out. We were a party of 8 and it took them 45 mins to seat us with many tables available. They advised that the open tables were for Trivial Nite..That was not going to start for 1.5 hrs...We could have eaten and been out of... More

We traveled by ferry to visit Cape May on a whim, its our anniversary, we're off, why not? So nothing was planned and we had no idea where to eat. After wandering around and reading several menus we decided on the Pilot House. Lucky for us. The staff was very accommodating, opening windows in an already closed dining room so... More

Steak sandwich for me and my wife a fish (white fish) sandwich. Both came with a nice fresh salad. Had service from Gabi, great server, not much in the way of conversation though, seemed to be the norm for most establishments in the area that we visited.

We have visited Cape May for many years and always seemed to end up eating at the Ugly Mug. However, we decided to try The Pilot House this year and we were pleasantly surprised! Unlike the "Mug" which is dark and noisy, this place is bright and very comfortable. We did eat at an early time -- 5:00 pm and... More

Worth a visit for drinks or to watch the game. Have visited several times just for drinks and always a fun and interesting crowd at the bar. Recent renovations, not sure I like the new look.
