Sadly Disappointing

Our friends had been talking up this restaurant as the culinary highlight of our recent trip. So maybe I entered with high expectations, but based on value for money I was sadly disappointed. Our 8:45 reservation turned into a 9:15 seating, despite the table being ready at 8:45. No reason given... read more

This was our first time at Ebbitt Room and it won't be our last ! The food, the wine and the ambiance were are excellent. We were seated at the exact time of our reservation and our server was professional, and our food arrived in a timely manner. Just a few complaints minor complaints- the noise, the heat, and the... We visited during Thanksgiving weekend, had dinner on that Friday night. The lovely Virginia hotel was decked out for the holidays and the fireplace in the waiting room of this boutique B&B welcomed us on an unseasonably cold night. A pianist was playing at the bar and the restaurant looked elegant and cozy as you would expect. We did not... More

We enjoyed a wonderful meal here last year during our Thanksgiving visit and couldn't wait to come back. Unfortunately, the restaurant was not opened for dinner in the dining room on Tuesday evening but did offer a limited menu at the bar. The bar is a beautiful wooden "U" shape and has a great vibe and the bartender was a... More

One of the finest meals I've had in ages. Great atmosphere. Great service. Ingredients are fresh. Presentations are lovely. Taste exquisite! It is expensive, yes, but it is well worth the price -- something that cannot be said for the majority of establishments in Cape May.

We were staying the weekend at the Red Cottage (part of the Virginia Hotel group) and walked across Jackson Street to the Ebbitt Room for drinks after we checked in. The bar starts serving at 4pm and Cape May was hosting a Jazz Festival and one of the singers was sound checking as we sat down at the tiny bar... More

We were disappointed in the service and taste of our food. Good, not exceptional. The deviled eggs are creative. All other dishes we had were disappointing.

The Ebbitt Room is one of the finest.....if not the finest fine dinning establishments on the East Coast! The Chef is refined and perfect in his balance of spice, lush taste and expression of art in his presentation. The Head Bar Tender is a Genie with a bottle! Amazing Leo will always exceed your expectations with his brilliant libation creations!... More
