In the Spring of 1988 on the corner of Pacific and Spencer in Wildwood New Jersey, Letitia Negro opened a ten table restaurant known for "Home Cooking". The $9.95 three course price fix menu featured family favorites and "Made from the heart" cuisine. The food, like its Restaurant School graduate chef/owner, was genuine, unique and unforgettable.

The end of Tisha's Home Cooking came early in the 1990's, but in turn became the beginning of Tisha's Fine Dining in Cape May. In 1995, Paul Negro, son of Letitia, and his wife Jennifer continued the tradition here in Cape May. Paul took what he learned from his mother, added his own talent and love for food, and established a great following.

Some things have changed in the city and the restaurant has now moved from the solarium building on the beach to its new home on the Washington Street Mall. No matter where they are Paul and Jennifer will proudly continue the tradition of love and passion for food and people in honor of Tisha, an amazing friend, mother and chef.

My favorite restaurant in Cape May

My husband and I eat here at least monthly. The dishes are delicious, the atmosphere is beautiful and it's a BYOB. This is our favorite restaurant in Cape May and you must try their other eatery in North Cape May, 5 West Pub. Another great establishment.

My husband and I have been going to Tisha's for years, dating back to when Tisha's was located on the Cape May boardwalk. The food is always delicious, the service is always excellent, and the ambience is lovely. It is great that there is more availability year-round at the "new" location. Whether you go in the summer at the height... More

Excellent food. Loved this restaurant when it was on the beach. Still worth a trip. It's a BYOB too!

What a treat! Tisha's is a must. The seafood is prepared without being smothered in butter or sauces. The bed of pasta and vegetable served with mild sauce complemented the fish, clams and shrimp. The pork loin rivaled a healthy ribeye with the texture of a fillet mignon. It simply melted in my mouth. Seriously, make it a point to... More

We really like this place, and have had consistently excellent meals here in the past. But our experience on New Year's Eve was somewhat disappointing, and I wonder if the head chef had the night off. Service was excellent, and our first course was very good -- I had the lobster bisque (top-notch, lots of lobster meat, excellent flavor and... More

I'll make this simple. We have had a house in Cape May for 10 years and eaten at every restaurant in town. Tishas is the best. I have never had a bad meal there. An absolute must if you are in Cape May.

Our party of four enjoyed four different entrees. Each was lovely. Actually excellent. The space and service was good, but not fussy. For the price and the place, it was a surprisingly good evening.

We have eaten at many places in Cape May. We were impressed with Tisha's food. Excellent, fresh quality. We had the kale Caesar salad. It was one of the best caesar dressings we've ever tasted. In fact, we went back the next day for lunch to have it again. My main course was GLUTEN FREE salmon and shrimp in a... More

My wife and I love to shop in Cape May and then swing by Colliers liquor store, pick up a craft beer or bottle of wine and walk to Tisha's (BYOB) for a gourmet lunch. Either sit outside and people watch or inside to enjoy great food and service. I love the fish tacos, and their gourmet hamburgers. I'm sure... More
