We use to live in Bordentown Twp. For many years we went there a lot. Just seeing Russ Ayres fix your hot dog with his rythmic motion was pure entertainment. All he had at that time 50+ years ago was a hot dog cart not even a mile away from where it is now. It's now a little shack..love the... More

Limited parking today. Apparently this place is so popular that there was either a family reunion or a wedding reception there today. Seriously, music, pictures, family dog. Anyway, the place is cool, very nostalgic. But you can't eat cool nostalgia. Regular hot dogs, boiled and served on regular supermarket hot dog rolls with the standard toppings. If your supermarket is... More

This place is great. Russ Ayers started a good thing. Now the owners do a great job like he did. But he had the special move fixing your dog. But still have good dogs.

Went there today for the first time. Figured they had been at this location for many years so it must be good. Boy was I wrong. If you like pale-colored, soggy hot dogs cooked in water then you might like them. They tasted like cheap hot dogs you would get from a dollar store. I didn't even eat half of... More

This place is famous the owner started as a push cart in Conney Island. The same cart still exists only now it is in the building. Limited selection but all are great with the usual dog toppings. very friendly many regulars. just a few stools inside but many picnic tables for warm weather outdoor dining. Most ate take out but... Russ Ayres Hot Dog Stand was started over 50 years ago by its namesake, a great man who had epilepsy and worked very hard to make a living for himself. The current owners have done everything right in maintaining his reputation. The simplicity of their hot dogs-plain, mustard, chili, cheese, sauerkraut, etc. are what make them the best around! The hot... More

Superb hotgods!! But they're hotdogs after all. Plus the service ain't what it used to be. Whenthe Ayers family owned the place the staff, mostly family, chatted it up with the crowd at the 6-stool counter, which was important on those busy summer middays. The current owners are more stoic. Some others may take repose in the silence. Personanlly, I... More

Its had been years since I went to Russ’s Hot Dog stand. But after getting in and sitting down at one of the six stools that line the counter. I’m flashed back to my childhood when my dad was still alive. Back then the man who started the little stand Mr. Russ Ayres himself was still alive and running the... More
