Alpine is a custom butcher shop, with additional products available all with a very German theme. It has one large table for anyone that does want to eat in. I am a loyal client. Years ago, it was not the most friendly place in the world, but I have to say that they have revamped their customer care and service.... More

Alpine market is a great old world German butcher shop in Blairstown, NJ. They make and smoke their own sausages, wursts, cold cuts, etc as well as providing custom cut meats. As a side, they make delicious sandwiches from their products as well as fresh soup daily. A small market area featuring German-Austrian products is also on site.

It is not true that you need to be from the area to get good service and from the counter. I do live in Blairstowns but may only visit the store once or twice a year (Holidays). My budget does not allow me to go monthly, I sure I am not recognize especially when it busy. I usually know what... More

On a recent trip to NJ we stopped by the Alpine for some of their Bavarian breads and cold cuts - the homemade summer bologna and roast beef made some of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten - of course they were made on that delicious Bavarian sandwich bread. We were visiting friends who are originally from Germany who... More

Always stop there first to see what's offered. The deli meat is fresh, as well as the cuts of meat. Seating inside available for a quick lunch spot before stocking up on groceries to take home. Market area expanding...

This is a true German experience. They sell excellent store made German potato salad, cold cuts, superb fresh and smoked meat, German imported items such as German brand coffees, senf(mustard) rot kohl (red cabbage), sauerkraut, candy, cakes and other items including rollmops, pickled herring and seasonal items. It is a deli and butcher shop, not a restaurant although they now... More

Some one wrote in and said that you have to take out your food to eat it. Not so you may have a hot dog or any other kind of soup or sandwich and sit at a table and eat it. This person also said that he or she was told that they were told by managemnet that everthing was... More

You want your deer butchered and smoked?" This is the place. You want a top steak, the perfect roast, the kind of butchering that you recall from the 1950's? And some German and Swiss extras? And the "wurst Wurst?" The Alpine is the place. Best franks, ever. Take out, only.

I went in to get a couple of hot dogs or franks. Apparently you can't do that, when you're not from the area. I was told that everything was sold out, while they were still serving customers. So, I can’t really say anything about the food.
