I have lived in Belmar for 15 years and I used to love this place and eat here probably once a week. That said, recently I ordered my favorite dish Shrimp Diane and picked it up to eat at home and was very disappointed. The broccoli was basically raw, the pasta was very over cooked and the shrimp... read more

Ragin Cajun is the best food in town. If you like Cajun and/or spicy food, this is the place for you. Traci, the owner just passed away and it is very sad. She was so passionate about her food and her customers. We will deeply miss her. The restaurant goes on and we will continue to eat there regularly. We... More

My husband and I ate here Saturday night with three of our teenage boys. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. For appetizers we shared the alligator sausage which was delicious but on the small side, the clams, which were some of the best we have had and a ceasar salad. We had Swamp Pasta, Seafood Jambalya and Shrimp Etouffe for dinner.... More

My boyfriend and I bought the Groupon and decided yesterday was so cold we really wanted some warm, spicy dishes! The atmosphere was awesome from the moment we walked in! It was small, but felt very cozy and welcoming. The service was very friendly, easygoing and attentive. We tried the alligator sausage, onion soup, blackened catfish and chicken jambalaya, and... Just one visit; weekday during summer of 2014. Food was fabulous. Service friendly and efficient. Prices reasonable. You can easily miss this place while driving by on Route 35, which appears to be the older single-family house is once was. Interior décor is charming, though tables perhaps a tad too close for some. Main setback was noticeably smoky air in... More

Small restaurant, but we went after Labor Day which helped. Food cooked to order, nice live music, blackened fish was very good, so was the Jambalya and Creole. It was very good, spiced well and very enjoyable. I spent considerable time in New Orleans, it was not as good as being there, but great for NJ. Also had some non-cajun... More

Love this restaurant, My family goes every few weeks and eats outdoors in summer. Food is fresh and delicious and very accommodating to my gluten free requirement.

We had delicious food accompanied by zydeco live music in a non-pretentious no-frills atmosphere. Don't let the plastic lawn chairs on the patio adjacent to 711 and the traffic stop you. Run, do not walk, to this creole/Cajun BYOB gem. My mouth thought I was in the French quarter, large potions, excellent value, fun vibe. The staff are students working... More

Great food, BYOB, the service was a little less than desired, the waitress was very young, not that means anything but, it was hard to get her attention. But the food made for the service. The food was obviously made cook to order, and very fresh. I would go back the next time we are in the area!

For over 20 years going into Belmar to look at the yachts, never knew such a great place was located across the street. If you like spice but not too hot then this is the place. Hands down best food in Belmar. The interior is a bit scary ( good that is) but the music is great. Superior service. This... More
