Greeat Seafood in Beach Haven

The Black Whale is a wonderful seafood restaurant with an extensive menu providing a wide assortment of choices of spirits, food and deserts. The atmosphere is quintessentially that of a fish food restaurant down to brown paper table covers. Entrees come with a large salad bowl. Service is quick... read more

You have to go early or expect to wait. Trendy beers on tap, oysters, clams, crabs, are you kidding me? Its a MUST go if you get to Long Beach Island, NJ

The owners of this place own 3 or 4 others. They all have the same overcooked fried seafood. Touch it with your fork and it shatters. We got dragged here with friends last summer after a long time since our last visit. The food was the same overcooked stuff we have had every time we have eaten here. Prices are... More

While I only eat at the bar, I can tell you that their service, attention to detail, personality, and friendliness are super. The spicy tuna egg rolls are to die for and I have never had a bad meal in here yet. If you are looking for a great place to grab a bite to eat and relax with some... More

Apparently not on the menu, these little neck clams pepperoncini are so good you can't stop eating them. Next the fresh salad with the two homemade dressings were very refreshing, and finally... The crab cakes I have heard so much about did not disappoint. Better than Bobby Chez' and my new standard. They have lots of neat bears but it's... More

One of the best bangs for your buck on the island. The fish is always good, and the house salad dressings are outstanding. The shrimp and olive tapenade is outstanding. And they get their dessert cakes from the Holiday Snack Bar down the street. Go early to avoid the crowds. But go!

Quiet weekend in November for lunch. Great wait staff, friendly and helpful. Food was so so, but I would try again for dinner. They are proud of their fresh fish and we, with baby in tow, didn't really go that route. Close to maritime museum. Nice bar area. Worth a look.

The atmosphere is laid back and comfortable - but not quiet. Our service was excellent in the bar. Large high top tables with room for many happy hour small plates. They have buckets of oyster crackers to munch on, lots of condiment options and - my favorite - a jar of horseradish to spice up your cocktail sauce or food.... More

Nice place, good vibe, high end seafood in a nice atmosphere. There specialty dishes are very good. Their curtons for the soup are bad stick to the oyster crackers.
