A group of eight, we ate at the Gables on a Saturday evening in mid-May. The food was excellent--quite gourmet, in fact. The service was good, although the food came out a little slower than expected. We were not in a hurry, and we had a semi-private dining area and never felt hurried. Our dinner here was wonderful. When we made our reservations for the weekend prix fixe dinner, they asked about dietary restrictions and prepared all of the courses accordingly. Don't let the location fool you - this food is every bit as good as it's hyped to be - and from the decor to the desserts, the homemade pastas/sandwiches/salads are top-notch and unlike anything else you'll find on LBI. The prix fixe dinners are a must, particularly call ahead WEEKS in advance if you wish to snag a table... more
