Others are right - the ambiance is lovely. Rustic, charming, and cozy, especially by the fireplace in the bar. Service has been good (not excellent, but mainly knowledgeable and attentive). The Grain House is a chance to step back in time. Wide oak floors and traditional colonial cielings. Easy to get to and from. There is a hotel on the premises if you do not want to dive.

The restaurant always had good food and has a romantic and cozy atmosphere. The bar area has a large fireplace and a great place to hang out for after dinner drinks.

The service was excellent, very attentive. The food was just okay. We had fish & chips, a cheddar burger, and a Grain house salad. Not... More

Below is the letter I wrote to the Restaurant Director and his reply in parentheses. I am writing to share my experience from the Thanksgiving Day lunch last week. This was the third time in the past few years that my wife, daughter and I selected the Grain House for our Thanksgiving Day meal. A 12 Noon or 2pm seating... More

The Grain House is a restaurant not to be missed if you are in the area. Originally a barn some 300 years ago, the restaurant retains much of the originally building materials and it feels like you are going back in time to dine here. The menu changes frequently and the chefs continually offer unique gourmet meals. I have frequented... More

Visited my cousin while in town for business. They invited me to come to dinner with them at the Grain House. I only ordered soup and a burger but both were excellent. One of the best burgers I have had. Very historic and great atmosphere
