Went here with our in-laws to be as our kids will probably be getting married here. So they being out of towners, we thought they would like to see/try the place beforehand. The food was excellent and he was quite impressed with the wine choices. He had two glasses of the Malbec which he claimed was excellent. We all had... More

In Wolfeboro to see the Wright Museum of WW II History’s special exhibit “Anne Frank: A History for Today,” I took a break and had lunch at Wolfe's Tavern in historic The Wolfeboro Inn, founded in 1812. Wolfe's Tavern is an authentic New England pub, and its décor reflects that. I was seated in a few minutes. I ordered the... More

First visit to Wolfeboro, NH, on visit to family who are living near to Boston. We thought it a long drive, but were rewarded with a very pleasant day out. One of the highlights being our lunch at Wolfe's Tavern, which has been in business since 1812. There is a good atmosphere, varied selection of beers on tap, and more... More

Hadn't been here in years, (although we live locally). This restaurant has had many ups and downs over the years, based on last night, on the ups now! Apps were seared Sesame encrusted tuna (delicious) and mussels. The mussels were unique as they had a lot of other things going on, good, but I have had better, maybe a bit... More

I have been to the Wolfe's Tavern at least four times over the past two weeks and have not had great experiences. On my first experience, I gave the benefit of the doubt to the young bartender given that the Lions Club was having a dinner meeting in the Inn's event room. He made great drinks, but forgot to put... More

So I waited until my second visit to write a review. The first visit wasn't great and the second was about the same. First, I'll start out by saying the atmosphere was nice, comfortable and relaxing. The menu options are decent and the wine list is okay. It's nice to have a good selection of various wines by glass or... More

Thank you so much for your reasoned, thoughtful comments. It looks as if we have failed you twice, and for this I sincerely apologize. It was inexcusable that a manager did not visit your table after this incident. I was the manager on duty that evening. I was tied up elsewhere in the building at the time, but that is... More

The bar area has a really cool tavern feeling. The beer was cold and the wait staff attentive. The pizza was a very cheesy to say the least, kind of over cheesed. If you like a lot of cheese order the pizza here. It is worth stopping here for a beer, the menu did seem like it is was priced... More

Thank you for your review. We do get a lot of comments on our atmosphere. We have over 2000 pewter mugs on our ceiling and over 100 different beers to choose from in order to obtain one of our coveted mugs. I'm sorry you felt our pizza was over cheesed, the next time you're in make sure to mention that... More

Generally the food here is average. The salad bar is limited, but the beers are cold and the burgers are the best value on the menu.

Thank you for your review. We are constantly looking for areas in which we can grow and do more for our guests. With the growing cost of food, it is difficult to offer variety while trying to maintain value to the customer. We could easily sacrifice quality for price, but we feel we can do better than that. I hope... More

Great atmosphere with the Hanging Beer Mugs that can be earned with having all of the beers listed on the extensive list there were 60+ when I earned my mug. Very good food, large portions, very friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, Two fireplaces running in winter.

Thank you for taking your time to review our Tavern. Great to hear you are part of our Mug Club. The list is 100 beers total now, with over 2300 members and climbing. It is always interesting to see older beer cards people have not yet completed. Sometimes it takes many years but without fail, someone is always kissing the... More
