We keep trying this in hopes that it will be good, but... Our most recent visit was for lunch with friends. It was not great. My sandwich was passable, but the Ruben ordered by one of our friends was awful. The bottom slice of bread was totally soaked and the meat couldn't be cut or chewed. The staff didn't apologize... We had dinner twice at the restaurant, and were happy with the quality of the food at a reasonable price point. The bar area was a little loud.. The first time it took a while to get seated; there were plenty of spare tables, but not enough waitstaff.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I'm glad to read that you enjoyed it here. Yes the tavern can get quite busy and loud at times, but that lends to the atmosphere of this 200 year old building. We hope to see you again soon and have a safe and happy holiday season. More

I have eaten at the Wolfe's Tavern on several occasions and have been disappointed every time. The waitstaff is nice enough, but the atmosphere is loud. Each time I have eaten here my order has been incorrect or my food cold when it finally arrives at the table. It seems as though the plate the food without any consideration of... More

I'm very sorry for our failure to serve you. Our goal is to serve great food and provide great service. I will admit that our Tavern can get quite noisy at times, especially if the Pat's or Bruins are playing. It also depends on the make up of the guests, we seem to get a very diverse group of people... More

Have been here many times, really enjoy the food and the atmosphere, but the service is so slow that it is painful, last weekend arrived and were told it would be a half hour wait to be seated, but you could see about four empty tables in the front room, luckily we got a seat at the bar, but other... Sir I'm very sorry for your experience here at the Tavern. We strive for great food & great service, I will be sharing your comments with our staff to help motivate them further. I was here the day you mentioned and the reason for the wait despite having visibly open tables was due to the size of the parties that... More

Shortly after the Inn changed hands, we went to dinner here. Well, the atmosphere had changed, and not for the better, and the food was downright mediocre. After a couple of years away, we stopped back and had dinner this weekend. The menu is quite limited, but what they do, they certainly do well. The food was quite good, and... More

We found ourselves left to out own devices on Thanksgiving Day so we decided to eat out. So off we went to the Wolfe's Tavern located in the Wolfeboro Inn and tried their Thanksgiving buffet. We had a beautiful drive over after 10 inches of snow the night before, most of that evening spent with out power. The Inn and... More

A very spacious historical looking country tavern decorated with hundreds of pewter mugs from members of the tavern's beer club. The dining area has both tables and booths. It is a wonderful dining experience with an imaginative menu, large portions, and wonderful service.

Went here with our in-laws to be as our kids will probably be getting married here. So they being out of towners, we thought they would like to see/try the place beforehand. The food was excellent and he was quite impressed with the wine choices. He had two glasses of the Malbec which he claimed was excellent. We all had... More

In Wolfeboro to see the Wright Museum of WW II History’s special exhibit “Anne Frank: A History for Today,” I took a break and had lunch at Wolfe's Tavern in historic The Wolfeboro Inn, founded in 1812. Wolfe's Tavern is an authentic New England pub, and its décor reflects that. I was seated in a few minutes. I ordered the... More

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed one of our Tavern favorite lunches. Our Cow Island Rueben is amazing not only because of our house made slow roasted corned beef, but also our house made Thousand Island dressing & sauerkraut. It is a time consuming process, but well worth the effort and wait.... More

First visit to Wolfeboro, NH, on visit to family who are living near to Boston. We thought it a long drive, but were rewarded with a very pleasant day out.
