A very spacious historical looking country tavern decorated with hundreds of pewter mugs from members of the tavern's beer club. The dining area has both tables and booths. It is a wonderful dining experience with an imaginative menu, large portions, and wonderful service.

It was our pleasure. Thank you for joining us. It is wonderful to hear when we provide the experience and service we work so hard to achieve. Our culinary team has been collaborating on a new menu for the winter season. We invite you back to try their new creations next to a warm fireplace. Hope to see you soon.... More

Went here with our in-laws to be as our kids will probably be getting married here. So they being out of towners, we thought they would like to see/try the place beforehand. The food was excellent and he was quite impressed with the wine choices. He had two glasses of the Malbec which he claimed was excellent. We all had... More

Thank you for your kind review. Your experience is exactly what we strive to provide at our Tavern. We invite you back, before the wedding, to experience winter in Wolfeboro. We will have 3 fireplaces warming the house while you enjoy more of what we have to offer. By the way, we do have a children's menu. It includes chicken... More

In Wolfeboro to see the Wright Museum of WW II History’s special exhibit “Anne Frank: A History for Today,” I took a break and had lunch at Wolfe's Tavern in historic The Wolfeboro Inn, founded in 1812. Wolfe's Tavern is an authentic New England pub, and its décor reflects that. I was seated in a few minutes. I ordered the... More

Thank you for your thoughtful review. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed one of our Tavern favorite lunches. Our Cow Island Rueben is amazing not only because of our house made slow roasted corned beef, but also our house made Thousand Island dressing & sauerkraut. It is a time consuming process, but well worth the effort and wait.... More

First visit to Wolfeboro, NH, on visit to family who are living near to Boston. We thought it a long drive, but were rewarded with a very pleasant day out. One of the highlights being our lunch at Wolfe's Tavern, which has been in business since 1812. There is a good atmosphere, varied selection of beers on tap, and more... More

Thanks for making the drive and thank you for your review. It is wonderful to know we were a highlight for you. We try to accommodate most flavor palettes with a variety of food and beverage options. Guests are often amazed by the dishes our culinary team creates. Of course we need to have a beer to compliment every dish,... More

Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear we did not provide you with an amazing experience. I am interested to know what you ordered and why it was "okay but nothing special." We strive to make a lasting impression on our guests, especially concerning our food. Without this feedback, it is difficult to improve where we, unfortunately, fell short... More

Hadn't been here in years, (although we live locally). This restaurant has had many ups and downs over the years, based on last night, on the ups now! Apps were seared Sesame encrusted tuna (delicious) and mussels. The mussels were unique as they had a lot of other things going on, good, but I have had better, maybe a bit... More

We are so glad you gave us another chance too! Over the past few years we have been determined to re-establish the Tavern as the place you can depend on to receive nothing less than our best. As for our fantastic bread ~ an Artisan bread from Tribecca Oven. You can go right online and order some for home. We... More

I have been to the Wolfe's Tavern at least four times over the past two weeks and have not had great experiences. On my first experience, I gave the benefit of the doubt to the young bartender given that the Lions Club was having a dinner meeting in the Inn's event room. He made great drinks, but forgot to put... More

Thank you for your review. Our apologies you did not receive the stellar service we are known for. Waiting at least 5 minutes for a drink is inexcusable. I will discuss your feedback with our team so this does not happen again. We invite you back to enjoy another pint while you watch the game. Maybe you could begin our... More

So I waited until my second visit to write a review. The first visit wasn't great and the second was about the same. First, I'll start out by saying the atmosphere was nice, comfortable and relaxing. The menu options are decent and the wine list is okay. It's nice to have a good selection of various wines by glass or... More

Thank you so much for your reasoned, thoughtful comments. It looks as if we have failed you twice, and for this I sincerely apologize. It was inexcusable that a manager did not visit your table after this incident. I was the manager on duty that evening. I was tied up elsewhere in the building at the time, but that is... More

The bar area has a really cool tavern feeling. The beer was cold and the wait staff attentive. The pizza was a very cheesy to say the least, kind of over cheesed. If you like a lot of cheese order the pizza here. It is worth stopping here for a beer, the menu did seem like it is was priced... More

Thank you for your review. We do get a lot of comments on our atmosphere. We have over 2000 pewter mugs on our ceiling and over 100 different beers to choose from in order to obtain one of our coveted mugs. I'm sorry you felt our pizza was over cheesed, the next time you're in make sure to mention that... More

Generally the food here is average. The salad bar is limited, but the beers are cold and the burgers are the best value on the menu.

Thank you for your review. We are constantly looking for areas in which we can grow and do more for our guests. With the growing cost of food, it is difficult to offer variety while trying to maintain value to the customer. We could easily sacrifice quality for price, but we feel we can do better than that. I hope... More
