If you can ski then you can get to some of the worlds most charming l places, one of which is in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This winter season's Schwendi Huttte is run by a new couple who come with successful restaurant experience. They have GREAT customer service skills, often soliciting feedback to see what they could do... More

Schwendi Hutte has been part of the Waterville Valley Ski resort for years. Owned by the resort, which is very visibly struggling financially, the operation of the restaurant changed hands this year. We visited the restaurant this weekend on Saturday afternoon for lunch. Based on what we saw, hopefully they are just having some growing pains as the new operator... More

I never thought that a restaurant on top of a mountain could make such good food, but I was wrong. This place has good food and good service.

Glad you enjoyed it! It's tough to maintain a quality menu so far up the mountain so it means a lot when someone takes notice. Hope to see you again soon. Thanks Ben! More

The problem with a nice place like this is that I'm torn between sitting on the deck, enjoying the view and having a beer and actually skiing. The wait was somewhat long but I was there at a peak time of day and it was worth it. They have a limited but varied menu. Its great to be able to... More

Best mountain top warming hut/eatery in NH! Great atmosphere, warm and inviting. Soup or chili hits the spot as does a terrific assortment of brews. We loved stopping in for a mid morning coffee, lunch or hot chocolate and HUGE cookie after lunch. EXCELLENT experience. On a sunny day that deck must really be the place to be! Look forward... We are frequent customers at the Schwendi Hutte at Waterville Valley. The menu is much more varoied than at any of the other mountain establishments. The food is made to order. The baked goods are some of the best we have ever had at a ski mountain restaurant. The staff id friendly and the views, on a clear day, are... More

The Schwendi Hutte was a highlight of our trip. It's at the top of the mountain and only accessible by lift. Downstairs is a comfy bring-your-own snacks area and restrooms. Upstairs it's a cozy mini-cafeteria. We shared a serving of the 'entree of the day' which was a HUGE serving of Shepherd's Pie. We also got hot cocoa. Other options... More

What a fantastic setting. When you are skiing Waterville Valley. you can stop in near the top of the mountain and grab a hot drink and some lunch when it's cold outside. On a sunny day there is a deck. If you want scenery it doesn't get any better than this. The food is okay, but who cares. The scenery... More

I was surprised by the selection of foods. Not the typical processed ski lodge crap. The soup was fantastic as well as the calzone. Wish we had gone there for breakfast as their pastries looks delicious. Service was helpful and friendly. I felt the prices we're reasonable considering ski area food is a little more costly and more so when... More
