The problem with a nice place like this is that I'm torn between sitting on the deck, enjoying the view and having a beer and actually skiing. The wait was somewhat long but I was there at a peak time of day and it was worth it. They have a limited but varied menu. Its great to be able to... More

Best mountain top warming hut/eatery in NH! Great atmosphere, warm and inviting. Soup or chili hits the spot as does a terrific assortment of brews. We loved stopping in for a mid morning coffee, lunch or hot chocolate and HUGE cookie after lunch. EXCELLENT experience. On a sunny day that deck must really be the place to be! Look forward... More

We are frequent customers at the Schwendi Hutte at Waterville Valley. The menu is much more varoied than at any of the other mountain establishments. The food is made to order. The baked goods are some of the best we have ever had at a ski mountain restaurant. The staff id friendly and the views, on a clear day, are... More

The Schwendi Hutte was a highlight of our trip. It's at the top of the mountain and only accessible by lift. Downstairs is a comfy bring-your-own snacks area and restrooms. Upstairs it's a cozy mini-cafeteria. We shared a serving of the 'entree of the day' which was a HUGE serving of Shepherd's Pie. We also got hot cocoa. Other options... More

Great to hear you enjoyed our cozy mountain top restaurant. We do a lot of sampling up there and it's amazing when it warms up and you can also take in the great views. Hope to see you again soon! More

The view is great...the food is okay...but if you should arrive after 2:30pm....no food no drinks no anything.... the staff is mostly interested in getting home and is more than ready to kick you out....sorry 2:31 no food / drink service. Even if you come early in the day the service is slow and sad. Time for a change of... More

What a fantastic setting. When you are skiing Waterville Valley. you can stop in near the top of the mountain and grab a hot drink and some lunch when it's cold outside. On a sunny day there is a deck. If you want scenery it doesn't get any better than this. The food is okay, but who cares. The scenery... More

I was surprised by the selection of foods. Not the typical processed ski lodge crap. The soup was fantastic as well as the calzone. Wish we had gone there for breakfast as their pastries looks delicious. Service was helpful and friendly. I felt the prices we're reasonable considering ski area food is a little more costly and more so when... More

Oh Emm Gee -- where to begin. OK, you get to the mountain at 8, get geared up, do a run or two, then come to schwendi for a coffee and a sticky bun or cinnamon roll. All hand made, on premise. YUM. Ski some more, let the lunch crowd come and go, and get back in here around 1:15... More

Great strudel and hot chocolate at the top of the mountain, especially when you are stuck due to fog. A bit pricey, I pick my battles. Also cool pics of the Kennedys in Waterville.

What a great little place to warm up, use the restroom and get a hot chocolate and a snack. Unfortunately, it is very pricy and the line is really long because the help was unorganized and slow.
