Good, Local Tavern

There's an extensive menu with daily specials, plenty of local brews, and simply a nice, friendly atmosphere. We met friends here for dinner and the place was quite busy, even on a Wednesday evening. There's a mix of locals from the surrounding towns plus visitors. The food is quite tasty and... read more

This is one of the local family-friendly restaurants; the other is Diamond Pizza. On weekends there will be many families and it can get crowded at prime time. It also tends to get crowded on Tuesday night when all burgers are seven bucks. It is not large and can get noisy at times but one really doesn't mind. I had... More

Very nice people. They had Guinness on tap and Fireball. We did not eat but food looked good. We did not eat but the food looked good and there was nice size crowd there.

The Tavern offers a vide variety of local food and drinks. It has a friendly local atmosphere. The right place to meet up with family and friends. The service is friendly and the prices reasonable. The prime rib was excellent and cooked to perfection.

Fried cod in fish and chips was disappointing. Compared to other restaurants in the area, it was over-cooked, had too much breading, and it did not appear appetizing. The appearance was a indication of what was experienced. The ticket received for the meal also was a disappointment in that we were initially charged twice the amount indicated in the menu... More

Our group of three couples had a great late evening dinner at the Tavern while staying at a local BnB. It's a great spot to unwind after a long day!

Food quality varies from boxed chicken tenders to better than average scampi and soups. Pricing is slightly high for this area which takes me to the problem of SLOW kitchen service. We have been to Walpole Tavern multiple times over the years and too many of those visits have had a extremely long wait for our meals. No employee seems... More

This is embarrassing -- I gave Walpole Village Tavern high marks just earlier this year. Please ignore that review of mine! on a very recent visit food and atmospehre were terrible, although service was still good. Our go-to burgers were thin, pale-gray tasteless patties, not the plump flavorful charred beef of the past. Fries were so-so. Calamari appetizer was limp... More

Walpole Village Tavern has become the "go to" place for my spouse and I when we are looking for a good meal, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere at a decent price. It has even become our special event place, after trying more expensive options in the area. The bar area here is small but frequently crowded by regulars. Beer... More

My husband and I ate here for lunch twice. The first day we were just driving around New Hampshire looking at the beautiful foliage and found Walpole and this fantastic place. The staff on both occasions were just so friendly. First day we had the Uncle Rueben and Aunt Rachel sandwiches. Both came with their homemade potato chips. Yum. The... More
