My husband took my for my birthday. I had steamers fried clams onion rings. The meal was great some what pricey.
If you like fried food this place is for you. The scallops and clams are very good. The french fries are soggy and the cole slaw is just ok. The nice thing about this place is they have an outdoor porch which we enjoy eating out on. This is a self service place with paper goods. Nothing fancy about it!
Lobster bisque was cold and not like a bisque at all, more like a stew or chowder. Had lots of lobster but lacked flavor. Fried scallops were good and so were the clams but the kids didn't love the calamari and the French fries were just so so. They only take cash so make sure you go with plenty of... More
We ate at Markey's last Fall (November 2013) and had a terrible experience, but I never got around to writing a review. We arrived at 7:30pm and noted the sign on the door said they were open until 9pm on Saturday nights. We ordered steamers which we were disappointed with, very blah, not sweet and also not very hot. We... More
One of the oldest and best places in this area for super fresh casual seafood. The lobster rolls are packed with fresh cooked just right lobster in a toasted hot dog roll. The steamers and boiled lobsters don't come any sweeter. Great food good value, in a very casual environment.
I went to Markeys today and I got a scallop plate.they were all pieces there wasn't one full scallop on the plate.I was a commercial fisherman for 20 years and I know the difference between a whole scallop and little pieces I would not recommend these, everything else was ok
This is the ultimate place for lobster. We stopped for lunch and had their lobster roll. Awesome. I couldn't believe how much lobster meat they stuffed into the roll. As we were leaving, a sign offering 2 lobsters (1.25-1.50lb each) for $22.95. We came back for dinner. After taking a trip to Camden Maine we returned on Fathers Day to... More
We visited here on our tour after seeing it on one of the food programmes in the UK. We both had the Lobster rolls and they were delicious sitting outside and it was not a disappointment.
My husband (30 years ago my boyfriend :) introduced me to Markey's and we have been going there yearly ever since. It is now one of my son's (now 30 years old) eternal childhood memories. This is your traditional lobster pound. The fried food is excellent, as are the steamers. But, most of all, it is the atmosphere that is... More
