Excellent Lobster

We came to Markey's (Lobster POOL, not Pound) for the lobster, and it did not disappoint. We visited late in the afternoon so all the big lobsters were long gone, but we got a few nice mid-sized ones. They were boiled perfectly. We really appreciated that they cracked and split them for us, so... read more

After years of going to the place across the street, Brown's, we decided that we would try Markey's and we haven't been back to Brown's since. The lobster is always cooked perfectly, the steamers are never gritty, and the fried food is lightly coated and delicious! You have an ocean view that is beautiful. The tables are picnic type with... Everything about Mark's is an experience while eating in the rough. Parking is a problem during the major summer holidays. No complaints here, a great place during the "OPEN SEASON". Mark's closes for the winter months and we are the first to visit in the Spring. See you there.

I haven't reviewed this already? Really? And I've been going for years. Yes, it's old, it's lopsided, it's picnic tables and tray service and "listen for your number." So it isn't for everyone. But if you really care about fresh lobster, world class chowder and the best onion rings you'll ever have, you'll deal with the lack of ambiance. Order... More

My husband and I ate there this weekend... for the last time. The food (while fresh) was incredibly greasy and bland. They do not have a children's menu and did not even have milk to offer children. The restaurant sits on the water, but in our opinion, is in desperate need of tlc. the floors are uneven and are falling... More

We stopped here as we tooled around New England - to bring my spouse up to 50 states visited. That said, we LOVE lobster, and had to pick between Markey's and Brown's. My wife had cherry stone clams for the very first. time. Delicious! The odd? We wanted female lobsters, hoping to get the roe. They asked if wanted the... More

We stop at Markey's Lobster POOL either on our way to KPT, ME or on our way back home to Michigan, and they have a delicious lobster roll. They pack the bun so full of succulent lobster that you have to eat some of it with a fork! Lobster is dressed with just enough mayo and lettuce. Be aware no... More

Made a drive up there after the Labor Day weekend and Lobsterfest, Enjoyed twin lobsters for just 14.95 and it was excellent- The lobster was cooked to perfection and the crack and split them for you for easy access and eating. If it weren't a 3 hour drive- I would make this trip every week- Well worth it!
