Our party had a Seafood Plate w/lobster and a Shrimp Plate. Compared to other places I have been to in New England quality and portions were average but price did not seem commensurate with that. $50 for above w/drinks. Fries were good but no onion rings with the plates. Atmosphere is typical for a place like this. BYOB is a... More

We love Browns. When I want lobster, I want lobster and not veggies or potatoes, so this is the perfect place for me. The lobster is excellent, and the choices of other foods are immense. For those who may not like seafood, there are chicken and hotdog plates as well. If I had to find a downfall I would say... More

This won't get good reviews if your looking for anything fancy. This is a byob and sit out with the seagulls or inside at long tables with no atmosphere. Having said that, if you like steamers, that is Ipswich long neck clams, you won't be disappointed. Delicious. Perfect size, sweet, no grit, hot, good amount of butter and broth. Chowder... More

Found this place through Yelp and Tripadvisor. It was a quick drive (10 minutes) from the Hampton Beach strip and our hotel. Fried food and lobster with no pretension. You order at a window, get your number and wait to be called over a loud speaker. Once you get your food you can find a table inside or outside on... More

Another big let down. Always heard great things about Brown's. I did not like the batter they did the fried clams in, and the French fries were mushy. However, my friend had the lobster pie which she said was gourmet. It should have been considering the length of time it took them to make it. I was thinking that maybe... More

We were first time visitors and we had no idea what the procedure was. You had to order fried foods at the window, lobsters at another (tho you could order fried foods along with the lobsters but no one told us) and you ordered steamers at a third window. I wanted baked haddock, my husband wanted oysters but they didn't... More

We went at 3:30 on a cloudy day and it was jammed packed. It was hard to get a parking spot, we waited in a long line to order, and waited a bit to get out food. The window girl was trained not to give out extra tartar sauce, but I wore her down. I had the fried clam &... More

My wife and I finally made it to this institution, and left mostly disappointed. Saturday nights are chaotic so maybe that's the wrong time to go, but we won't be going back. There's a long line to order fried food outside. Then, if you want lobsters or steamers, there are separate lines for that. I wanted steamers, but wasn't going... More

This place gets its one star for ample parking, otherwise I would have given zero. We typically stop at Markey's across the street but because there was no parking we decided to give Brown's a try. Big mistake! The service is flat at best, we did not feel welcome. You order fried food as well as chowder and lobster rolls... More

First of all - This is a CASH ONLY establishment. No credit cards accepted! Hit the bank or ATM before you go. We went in celebration of my Wife's birthday (it is her "Birthday Month"). We ordered two pound and a Half lobsters each along with some Clam Chowder. My brother had fried Haddock and Scallops and was raving about... More
