This is a wonderful little shop. Not only was there a wide variety of fancy and fabulous cakes, (available by the slice as well as a whole cake) but everything I got was fresh and had real ingredient taste. The cake was moist and the icing was flavorful and light. I have to agree with Rod L- the cake nazi... More

I moved to Salem last summer, and the first place my older sister brought me to was Sugar and Spice Bake Shoppe. Since then, I've become a regular customer and have NEVER been disappointed! One thing I should point out before going any further is the rather nasty comment from another reviewer referring to the owner as the "cake Nazi."... More

This bakery has the best cakes and cookies. The rest of the desserts in my opion are just okay, but dealing with the owener is like dealing with the 'Soup Nazi" from a Seinfeld episode. We call him "The Cake Nazi." Scarey to deal with, but worth it!

This is a great little bakery... pretty small... but the cookies, pastries and cakes are delicious. The woman behind the counter who helped us was very friendly and polite. Glad that we stopped by, and will again when in the area.

We don't live in the area, but were in Salem on my wife's birthday and decided to stop here to check out the offerings. The owner was helpful in explaining everything and there were so many items that we would have tried. We decided on a cake to bring home and a lobster tail to eat in the car. Well,... More

For years I drove by this little bakery and never gave it a second thought, until a friend recommended it to me. I gave it a try and we were blown away with how good the cake was. I don't remember what the occasion was, but I do remember all of my guests commented on how delicious it was. I... More

I love this place and I like the owner, even though others say he's ornery. I don't care, he makes great stuff. We get a variety box from here for "special occasions" of a few different kinds of pastry and cakes and they're always great. The ??lobster tail??? (is that what it's called?) is excellent and I love the canoli's...... More

I don't go into Salem very often, but when I do, I'm sure to stop here. It's a small bakery but the pastries are inexpensive and delicious - my boyfriend loves the eclairs and the whoopie pies, and a slice of any type of cake is amazing!

I have visited this shop numerous times throughout the years. Each and every time...I was not dissapointed. I have tried different types of pastry at other shops where the item looked beautiful...but didn't taste so good. It's not like that at Sugar and Spice. At Sugar and Spice in Salem...I know it's hard to believe...but it actually tastes as good... More
