We have been here before and had to stop by again since we were in town. The coffee is still as good as I remember and the better part is the sweets. The flax-seed bars, the macaroons and the cookies are the best.

Nice little shop right on Market Square. Friendly staff. Tea and Coffee. Outstanding pastries. Sit at the tables on the busy square and watch the world go by or enjoy the architecture around you or loads of indoor seating on those hot/humid days when you'd prefer the AC! Prices very reasonable - chocolate cheesecake will bring us back for more.

After a nice dinner in Portsmouth we always seem to end up here for a great latte', best in the city. They certainly know their craft.

Casual ambience, fun people, good coffee! Take your coffee outside and sit on the sidewalk to people watch, chat or take in the historic architecture.

We were walking the downtown area after dinner at Jumpin Jays and wanted to grab a coffee and snack. They are very accommodating and friendly. The gelato is not and should be avoided. The cakes were great and the coffee was very good. Low acidic and smooth.

Nice place to grab a cold drink and sit on the sidewalk listening to street performers and enjoying the people-watching.

What a treat. Love Portsmouth! We went for a ride today to Portsmouth, NH. What a great old sea town. We went to Prescott Park, and stopped at Breaking New Grounds for Hot Chocolate. Never a disappointment. Of course we got a large, which was served in a soup coffee cup. Yum, yum, yummy. There is always a crowd there.... More

Rather than tread the same old (ahem) ground and visit another Starbucks in another town I thought I'd give this coffee shop a try. I was drawn by the number of people at the tables on the pavement area and the line inside. The selection of coffee was on par with the normal coffee chains with a selection of cakes... More
