Went alone and sat at the bar. The staff attending were both friendly and helpful --not afraid to make recommendations which were well taken.Tthe menu tho small offered small, large and medium plates which were varied and innovative. I had a blue cheese entree which was so tasty and well presented as well and a medium plate of Moroccan meatballs.... More

We went for a birthday celebration, and the location and atmosphere were superb. Ordinarily I would have loved to linger for 3 hours over a wonderful meal, but this did not happen. The waitress was almost surly at times, and gave me a dirty look when we wanted to split our bill into 3. Our water glasses were not refilled... More

We wanted to have a glass of wine but ended up having some appetizers as well. They have small plates so that was perfect for late afternoon. Quite a nice wine list and an excellent cheese plate with cheeses from Vermont and Maine. We enjoyed it very much. I would like to go back for dinner!

My husband and I travel frequently and have eaten in restaurants all over the US, Caribbean and Europe. We both agreed that this was one of the best meals we have eaten in a restaurant. We started by sharing the Chef's Meze Plate which consisted of three small appetizers - mackerel in a biscuit, tomatoes with feta cheese and a... More

Black Trumpet is right next to the harbor on Ceres St. Make sure you get a table by the window upstairs in the Bistro. Tim's Dessert was the Best.

Right on the harbour side, this was a recommendation from the friend of a friend, and worked out brilliantly. You will need to book. The local fish dish changes each night, and I had a three dish Meze plate to start. Service was very good, attentive, but not intrusive, and the quality of the food was top notch. Faultless.

I ordered the daily special, flounder was mushy, overcooked. My husbands chicken was better. Overpriced for food. Great place for good wine and a local cheese plate. Have entree elsewhere.

We were attracted by the Black Trumpet's location in an old ships chandlery across from the tugboats. While it's on a narrow waterfront alley, it is near the center of this great walking town and close to the public garage. We ended up being very impressed by its menu. The menu is very focused on local ingredients and changes with... More

Came with high hopes. After all it is expensive and has a good reputation. Sad to say the food was mediocre and unimaginative. About as good at any mid-priced hotel. The wine was expensive and served too cold. My glass and fork were both dirty, and that waiter was an exceptionally unhappy and humorless boy with a huge chip on... More
