Sunday morning in Portsmouth and Friendly Toast was jammed with a 30+ minute wait. We moseyed in the other direction and found Colby's on the recommendation of a local family we met on the street. After a somewhat shorter wait we were seated and quickly served a delicious, affordable brunch. Service was quick and accurate - not too chummy or... More

A cute little restaurant that has a peaceful atmosphere. We went here for brunch and had their sandwich and soup combo. I had their tuna, which wasn't too bad but my partner had their reuben and that was tasty. I wish I had tried their breakfast menu as every dish that came out for other patrons looked incredible! Staff were... More

Went to Colby's for Breakfast and it was just OK. It is a small restaurant with some outside seating. We waiting for some time to get in which was to be expected on a holiday weekend. The waitress was a little slow in coming to our table and once our order was taken it took a significant amount of time... More

A bit of a wait. The staff was nice. The food was good. Fluffy raspberry pancakes and very good french toast. Only got 1 egg was suposed to get two. When I asked waiter he offered to get me another egg....but I was fine...there was enough food to fill my plate. Recommended.

My boyfriend and I went to Colby's yesterday (6/30) because we were both too warm to cook! I decided to go with a daily special, the smoked salmon eggs benedict and a side of hash. The eggs were poached perfectly and the hollandaise sauce appeared to be homemade. I liked that the spinach wasn't sautéed, rather it was still crunchy... More

I ate here for lunch, which allowed me to walk in with no wait and choose a table. I was also lucky that I found parking right out front, which is a big accomplishment in Portsmouth (add some time to your lunch break). The lobster roll was on the special, so I got that and a bloody mary. There was... More

We stopped here on our trip up to Maine and it was WELL worth the stop! This is a very small diner but enough room at the tables inside. I had the pancakes- these were the best pancakes I have ever had- they were light and fluffy but crisp around the edges as well. My husband got the lobster omelet... More

The food here was great and affordable for a family breakfast outing. The blueberry pancakes were large but not too thick! The thick French toast seems to be a signature item, and it was delicious! What a great local food find!

You'll most likely have to wait for a seat but trust me it's worth it. Probably the best breakfast place in Portsmouth - nothing fancy but good, consistent food. Two words... Huevos Rancheros !

Went here for breakfast on a Saturday around 11:00. We had a party of 6 so we had to wait for a little bit and we were glad we did. Only one person ended up getting breakfast and it was the omelette special, huge portions and very fresh. The lobster rolls were delicious and so was the pastrami sandwich as... More
