Went there after staying at Wentworth-by-the-Sea in Newcastle. The Friendly Toast is a great restaurant with good food and great service. And it's in a great location in Portsmouth. Highly recommend. more

I would drive up from Boston just for the Pumpkin Pancakes. The atmosphere is great with grandma's dinette sets, Americana on the walls, anything you could possibly want on a multi-page menu, young friendly tattooed waiters. The food was just Great! I saw this resturant on the Travel Channel and thought I had to give it a try next time I was in N.H. I wasn't disappointed! What a menu!!!! The deco was interesting as well as the waitstaff. If you are looknig for the unusual this place is a must to be put on your list! more
