If you see a line out the door, don't worry, they know how to move people in and out, it's never a long wait. Every single item on the enormous menu is fantastic. We eat here often and have never had anything that wasn't excellent.

My husband and I spent a long weekend in Portsmouth and went for breakfast at The Golden Egg twice, it was so good. Both of us need to be gluten free, and I must be dairy free as well, so we were thrilled there were so many gluten free muffin choices on their menu. Only the carrot spice muffins were... More

Been here many times as we live close by. The food is excellent and the prices are good. The place is small, there is often a line but it is worth the wait. The pancakes are excellent, the rest of the breakfast foods are good. Waitresses are friendly even if they are a bit in a hurry at times. Food... More

We actually planned to visit the Egg when we went out east for a wedding. Found out that there is some construction on a bridge that connects that area with Portsmouth. So a round about way to get there was found. It was sooo worth it! My husband had already known what he was getting. Eggs Sagamore. Eggs Benedict with... More

We ordered breakfast to go and ate at the beach because this place was so packed on Sunday morning. The California Eggs are so good. The pumpkin bread with cream cheese was really tasty.

We have been going to the Golden Egg for over 9 years. Sure you will find lines, but if you don't mind a little wait or can even, heavens forbid, sit at the counter, you will find a true hidden gem in the Seacoast area of NH for breakfast. The portions are always filling, the quality of the food is... More

We were visiting Portsmouth and checked Tripadvisor for a good breakfast spot. Golden Egg had a line, however, the lady in charge is really good at her job and had everyone seated quickly. The menu is extensive and imaginative, probably one of the reasons it is busy. I tried the waffle special with rhubarb and strawberries. It was good, however,... More

You can tell by the everpresent lines that you are in for a treat. Even though the place is usually packed, the service is great, the coffee is always full (and bottomless) and the food is fantastic. I try to go whenever I visit Portsmouth or Rye.

Great little breakfast spot. Huge menu. And everything we had was very good. They seated us really quickly even though they were busy and we had a party of nine. And our food came out very quickly as well. Great service. Good food. A good place for breakfast if you're close by.
