Everything was great until the meal came without the whole meal on the plate. We had to explain the menu to them......excuse they were training.....meanwhile we can hear them in the kitchen chatting it up like service was secondary...... FAIL!!!!!

This place had awesome food. We loved every bite until my brother in law broke open his lobster and found a black mass in the tail. I immediately called over the waiter and for the number of years that he's lived in New Hampshire and Maine he has never seen that in a lobster. So then I pulled out my... More

Friendly but slow service. Beautiful harbor views. I ordered a fried fish sandwich because I thought it would be difficult to screw up a fried fish sandwich. But it came out (about 20 minutes later) cold and undercooked in the middle. I sent it back. My wife ordered calamari so we shared that, instead. Unremarkable calamari, except for the fact... More

We had traveled to Boston and were going to meet a friend from NH for lunch. She recommended this place in Portsmouth. We drove from Boston to there during a monsoon rain storm - not fun at all. It was still pouring when we arrived. Fortunately, they have free parking right next to the restaurant, so with umbrellas and rain... More

Went there on a brilliantly sunny and warm Father's day, and was treated to a wonderful jazz brunch on the deck. The crowd was relaxed and friendly, and out waitress engaging and funny. The seafood was tasty and fresh, and the clam chowder creamy and flavorful as it is supposed to be. The jazz combo played an eclectic mix from... More

Up in Portsmouth for an errand on Father's Day, looking for a place for lunch, initially considered eating the the Oar House Dock (I think they call it), next to the harbor cruise boat, but seemed a bit too hot in the sun - surprised the hostess there didn't refer us to the Oar House Deck around the corner, which... We were a party of six celebrating a birthday; everyone had a little something different which included lobster, steak, salmon, caesar salads, escargot and spinach dip appetizers and Asian spare ribs. All meals were presented nicely by a very pleasant staff and follow up service was excellent. Overall a bit pricey but the outside deck made up for it.

The atmosphere outside is a wonderful spot. The seafood corn chowder was great. However the ceaser salad was terrible. Just lettuce and croutons that were way to hard to eat or cut through. Our waitress appeared to be new and not on top of her game. The drinks took what seemed forever to get to us. My friend enjoyed their... More

Very friendly and attentive waitstaff. Food is always good. Friendly atmosphere. Prices on the high side but the view is great. Would recommend this deck over all others in the area. The staff makes the difference.
