The Dinnerhorn-Bratskellar is one of those rare local gems that remains just that. Great food, great service, and great people. Whether it is pizza, seafood or steak, there is always something on the menu to make you happy. No wonder we've been going there for nearly forty-odd years now.

After a long day of flight delays, missed connections and cancelled flights we arrived in Portsmouth about 5 hours later than anticipated. We were exhausted and hungry and it was past time for supper for my elderly parents. While checking into our hotel we asked the desk clerk about good local seafood. He recommended the Dinnerhorn without hesitation. One of... More

I went with friends to this Seacoast NH dining institution known for quality seafood. Three of us ordered from the Lunch Menu. Friend #1 ordered the Fried Clams with salad and rice at $13.50. Friend #2 ordered Baked Haddock with Crumb Topping and sides of French fries and coleslaw at $11.95. I ordered my favorite here ---- the Baked Scallops... More

We always loved the pizza and returned after moving away. It wasn't quite so good this time around. Not enough sauce, cheese, or toppings and the bottom wasn't cooked quite enough. The Dinnerhorn restaurant has a varied menu, including seafood. The food quality is fine, just not great.

It's like place from the 60's. Great food-lots of it- at great prices. The baked stuffed 1 and a half pound lobster with salad and two sides is $26.99. And it is delicious!!

Eat where the locals eat! Great seafood! Haven't had the fried entrees but my lemon sole was excellent. Choice of 2 sides: demi salad and roasted red bliss w bacon. $19! Mom had the grilled salmon w baked potato and spinach! Super friendly service from all staff. Have to return to sample the lighter fare on the Bratskellar side. Lots... More

So, we like to relax, have a few beverages and perhaps have an appetizer before supper or if it is lunch we order the pizza. The pub area seems to be the perfect place for this sort of thing. The staff is very friendly and do not seem to mind if you are not in a hurry, like at some... More

We're a 20/30 something couple from out of state looking for a dinner spot tonight. We, like you saw the few 'bad' reviews, and thought...nah, can't be bad - the good reviews are great and it appears this is where the locals go. Yes, the local nursing home..maybe you've lost your sense of smell/taste or you're on a restricted diet... More

Pssst....I'll let you in on a little secret, but don't tell anyone. This is where the locals eat! They send the tourists and visitors to the expensive and average type restaurants. Seriously, we were recommended this restaurant by the guy who checked us into our hotel room. I asked him for a recommendation for a good restaurant and he told... More

My husband and I like to dine here when in the area and we are always happy with our experience. We ate here again this trip and it was an outstanding experience. It was Restaurant Week and I ordered one of their items from this menu and I would rate my meal as my second best dining experience ever! I... More
