Fun and family friendly

Portsmouth Brewery is a wonderful brewpub, with a marvelous menu with almost an artistic and classy flare. We came here for the beer tasting and the bar maid was not very friendly. The beer was okay. Wouldn't come here again.

Another local spot that had a waiting list that reached outdoors! We sat near the bar, and the draft from the large windows was quite chilly, but it didn't bother us, because we didn't have to wait. The beer selection was good, but the menu and our server weren't very descriptive. However, we were offered free tastes of the beers... More

The Portsmouth Brewery is an iconic part of town. The atmosphere is fun, the food (especially the nachos) are tasty, and the beer is cold. That be said, the wait staff could use a lesson in service. For a touristy town, it isn't a friendly restaurant. I'd still recommend you try it, just don't expect the welcome mat to be... More

Had a window seat - was awesome looking outside at the street scene as well as seeing inside to the bar area. Cool atmosphere, funky bathrooms, great beer and food. bar staff couldn't be more attentive and knowledgeable ...mussels were fantastic - try the spicy ones - they're not that spicy - just good flavor.

We went during lunch time and were seated right away in their inner courtyard. It was great to enjoy good beer in the sunshine amidst exposed brick walls and greenery. I highly recommend asking to be seated outside; it's small and intimate. The beer selection was quite good and the food was delicious. We had the deviled eggs and the... More

Food was pretty good I had some Chicken, Onion, Bacon-flat bread special and my husband had the pulled pork:) with delicious french fries. I couldn't wait to get out of there though...it was cold out and inside had a cold feeling as well between the color scheme or lack-there-of and the cool dim lights. The booth was straight varnished plywood/very... More

My husband enjoyed the wide selection of freshly brewed beer. For dinner I enjoyed the fish and chips. We were seated right away and enjoyed the historical building with tall ceilings and the artsy decor. We did not have to wait long for our drinks or dinner and would return for lunch and/or dinner when we are next in Portsmouth.

Celebrated 3 birthdays in our family. Found a great restaurant that had great food to please all 10 people. Fun atmosphere, many quality craft beers on tap and bottles.
