Was here ago about 12 years ago and it was nice to see the beer and food were just as good. Get the pulled pork nachos, they are amazing. But be sure sure to share them, it is a huge order.

Great little brewery right in the heart of Portsmouth. The staff was very friendly! Great little gift shop attached to the main bar which had great t-shirts and hats.

No doubt the mussels here are great, especially the one with the curry sauce (yum!). We went here twice for the mussels. Nothing bad to say about the food. Their fries, calamari, & s'more cake (mouth-watering for cake-lovers!) were delicious as well. The brewery has like hundreds of beer flavors to choose from since they're also the one making it.... Lots of specialty beers to choose from. A little expensive, but fun to share a few. Nice soups and sandwiches. My husband enjoyed his chowder and his pastrami sandwich was huge. I had a salad that of course I regretted ordering after I saw his sandwich. I hate that!!! But my hubby is such a good sharer and after 40... More

There was a 20 minute wait in the upstairs area, so it was suggested we head downstairs as they have the full menu available there as well. It was a nice little bar area, with pool table, shuffleboard and additional seating. We tried the shrimp and grits (Saturday special) and the fish chowder. Both were delicious and I also had... More

We just went in for a beer, and enjoyed a couple of local brews. The craft brewing craze may someday give way to the next big thing, but for now there are great places like Portsmouth Brewery. Asked a local next to us at the bar if the food was any good, he said go elsewhere, so we never got... More

No longer a brew pub, in the classic sense. It is now a tourist type pub. Uninspired food choices and less than thrilled to see us wait staff. Beer is good, however the $26.00 steak was 1/2" thick, soupy potatoes and no salad or bread....any other place this would be a $9.95 steak special. Won't be back

Had a great spicy Bloody Mary, hubs had a draft IPA (night nurse). We started with some spicy curry style mussels, they were excellent. We shared a lunch entree of lemon-ginger salmon it was delicious. Our waiter was great, very friendly, attentive but not overbearing. Didn't have dessert, decided to get that on a walkabout around town. Overall it was... More

I new the beer would be good and it was! Loved their OctobIerfest! I had a Salmon dinner fish of the day special and was terrific. Good just right with a nice light topping. Garlic Spinach came with it. We had fish chowder which was great. My husband had the mussels which you can get a couple of different ways.... More

The food was pretty good but the service wasn't. Our waiter clearly didn't want to work that night. He took our drink order than went to the booth behind us and talked to them for 6 minutes. He came back later and blamed it on the bar being backed up... really do you think we're that stupid, you were right... More
