I just want to give a shout-out and a thanks to the Portsmouth Brewery for having the best vegetarian options in Portsmouth. Sometimes it's hard to find creative meat-free selections in coastal town so saturated with seafood, but the Brewery continues to offer inspired choices (and lots of them!). Most restaurants in the area (with the exception of a handful)... More

We stopped to Portsmouth Brewery on our way to Maine. There was no wait for lunch and we were seated at a comfortable booth. Our waited stopped over very quickly and took our order for drinks and appetizers. He was extremely attentive. The food was very good and the fresh fish sandwich I had was extremely tasty. The beer selection... More

Downtown location, they have good beer, burgers were tasty. Whippersnapper was good and so was the wheat beer.

This is easily my favorite place I've ever eaten or drank good beer! I love the Black Cat Stout! The seafood is fresh! Burgers are delicious! If you have a chance to to to the Jimmy Lapanza lounge you should enjoy the food specials. What an all around great establishment!

A bunch of my colleagues and I came here last week during my visit to Portsmouth. It took us quite a while to get seated (but you can't blame them for being popular). The servers were very attentive, even if they were a tad slow to come around. Again, it was hopping that night, so I'm not holding it against... More

We enjoyed the brewery. Got a flight of beers and had lunch there. I would go back when we go back to the area.

We stopped here around 7 on a Sunday and were told it was a 30 minute wait for the dining room, but we could sit at one of the bar tables. Bar tables sounded good. Our waitress acknowledged us, but she was so busy that she didn't get to us for about 10 minutes. When she arrived with menus, she... More

If you like a house-made veggie burger, you'll love the one at the Portsmouth Brewery. (Oh, and it doesn't hurt if you like beer -- they have a huge selection).

We came here late night after a concert for a snack and a nightcap. We asked to be seated in the beer garden, which turns out to be kind of a small and weird space, a brick courtyard with very high walls. Didn't quite feel like the beautiful summer night it was outside, more like being at the bottom of... More
