When traveling on business, I tend to look for brewpubs because they have wide-ranging menus. The beer at PB is good, but nothing better than I've had elsewhere. I think it is the food that really shines. Burgers are good, as is the fish and chips with chipotle mayo. They also have a good selection of vegetarian and seafood options.... More

Excellent craft beer- had the Kringles Krook was leery of a minty stout but was glad that I did. Smooth finish and not too minty. I got soup and sandwich delicious- my friend had a burger and said it was one of the best she ever had. Got the deal to return to Smuttynose and get a squealer fill up-... More

I had a wonderful tempeh Reuben sandwich here with vegan slaw on the side. There were several other interesting veggie choices as well, and of course an extensive non vegetarian menu. Wash it all down with hand crafted beer and this place can't be beat!

Good energy, craft beers, eclectic pub food - we had some beers, vege-ruben sandwich and nachos with pulled pork - both good. Nice informal place to eat and have a beer.

Lunch at the Brewery was great. We sat at the upstairs bar and enjoyed the fish and chips as well as the pulled pork sandwich. Both were delicious. Best part was trying all of the beers and learning more about them. We also received a pass for a free growler fill up at the Smuttynose Brewery which is down the... More

Ok, I'll admit it ..I'm a fan. It wasn't too long after they opened in 1994 that I first visited. A much younger man then, my pals and I would take our meager seasonal bonuses and head south to the tax free Mecca of NH. After frolicking in the liquor stores and stocking up on excess ..(maybe even purchasing a... More

Went to PB for lunch with a few friends. Place was super busy but the wait wasn't too bad and we got a seat at the bar thankfully. Drinks were great. Waiter was attentive. 3 of us got burgers and the two that ordered medium got some serious bloody burgers....so make sure you ask for medium well if you don't... More

What a great place to gather with friends & family for some excellent beer and good pub food. As soon as you walk in you know you're in a comfortable place. Fun pub atmosphere. The wait staff who greeted us were cheerful and excited that we had come so far (over an hour) to meet our family for a big... More

We have been customers for nearly 20 years and always enjoy the quality of the food and beers. This visit was no different for beer and food. I'm giving three stars for a change which makes no sense. Portsmouth Brewery has always produced excellent ales with imaginative names and offered great beers from the sister Smuttynose. AND they always offered... More
