This is a place you go to when you just want to hang out with your friends and have a drink. It's a warm place with brick walls and a big snooker table. Wintertime there's a fireplace to sit near! They have a pretty good beer and wine menu... as well as a full bar. So cocktails of all sorts... More

A better British environment however did not feel English. But the food and drinks much more Brit oriented and very tasty. We really enjoyed our meal and drinks though it didn't feel like being at an English Pub (the decor and environment), the food and drinks was definitively totally BRIT.

Paid a quick visit to Portsmouth on our drive back from Portland to Boston. After viewing John Paul Jones’ House (from outside), we were pleasantly surprised to find the Celtic Crossing store on Congress Street nearby. This led us to ask the proprietor if there were Scottish/British pubs nearby, and he recommended the Coat of Arms. Thanks! An excellent recommendation.... More

We went to this place on our last night in Portsmouth and weren't disappointed. They had just reopened with their newly added enclosed outdoor patio, which had plastic sheeting. It was a very cold night, but we were nice and warm with the heaters they had. The best part (for me) was watching the tugboats come in for the day... More

From snooker to fish and chips, and the plaid decor, it's a British pub, alright. Lots of beer on tap, and a knowledgeable staff to help you choose (no BudLight here, although they did add PBR to the selection). The curry chicken pita is a local foodie favorite, and the burgers are also very good. Chicken pot pie is excellent,... More

I wish we lived a little closer because we would be regulars. The staff was very friendly. Great atmosphere. The food was delicious. Loved the beer selection. Some I never heard of. My husband and I each tried a pie and both were very good. They make them to order which I though was great. They offered samples of beer.... More

Hadn't had a meat pie since I visited the UK until I came across Coat of Arms. Steak & kidney with chips! Hmmm!

A little hard to find but worth the search. Great selection of British Pub grub. After a rececent trip to Edinburgh this is the closest I have ever found to true British Pub Food. Authentic fish and chips brings me back time and time again.

Very casual - decor needs some upkeep - but I don't think that is what this place is all about. This is a nice casual bar - with great beers and mixed drinks, pool tables and dart boards. Spent the extended weekend in Portsmouth - sampled many places and this was by far the best martini I had gotten. Food... More
