You MUST eat here!!!!!

Me and my husband were in Portsmouth over the weekend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. While I was fully expecting my husband to pick out a seafood restaurant for dinner, he surprised me by saying that he'd like to go to my top choice (which I hadn't mentioned to him.) We didn't make... read more

We ate at Moxy's mid week in October after they were recommended for their tapas.(smaller portion) choices....Sitting at the bar was nice, and I should add that they patronize local farmers and businesses for their supplies..However, food was just OK so it was hard to justify the high prices for very small amounts...Much higher than an average bill for sitting... Moxy's farm-to-table menu is a perfect blend of comfort food and culinary experimentation. Each dish is prepared with precision and inspiration, and the flavor combinations are unusual and intriguing without in any way taking away from the simple, basic aesthetic of the restaurant and its food. The menu changes frequently though many staples remain - you can't try it all... More

Last night went out for an anniversary dinner date with my husband at Moxy. Everything was delicious from our drinks to apps, through dinner, to dessert. Servers were friendly, efficient and just great people. We both had the fab five with drinks and were treated royally all night. Highly recommend this place for a fun night out!

My wife and I both like the idea of sharing small plates and will often order a selection of appetizers and one main dish to share at non-tapas restaurants. Moxy gives you a selection of small, medium and large plates and the difficulty is deciding what not to have. They are all unique takes on fresh local foods, not like... More

Great place that we may have missed it we hadn't been looking for it. We chose to eat the 5 Tapa selections with an extra $20 PP for the accompanying cocktail/wine/beer (worth it). Unique, fresh tasty and healthy (exclucing the amazing whoopie pie). I'm sure there was some calcium in it. The service was great and very friendly.

My boyfriend and I arrived at Moxy on a busy Friday night and were seated by the window. Having never been there before, I told him that Moxy is not your typical tapas place and puts a creative spin on the food. He opted for the meat and potatoes and let me choose the rest. I selected the hasty pudding... More

We recently dined in Moxy on foot of the rewiews from Trip Advisor. It is a very average restaurant, the flavours are good. Loved the fried kale. We were sitting upstairs and there was a celing fan constantly blowing cold air on us which was uncomfortable. My husband definately did not like it, he rather enjoys a good meal and... More

My husband and I stumbled in on a Saturday afternoon while walking downtown Portsmouth. We sat at the bar for a few drinks and enjoyed chatting with the bartenders. They were very knowledgeable of the local spirits the bar pours. After reviewing the menu, we decided to come back later that night for dinner. The restaurant was packed, so again... More

We saddled up to the bar at Moxy to survey the menu and enjoy a couple of the local craft brewed beers on tap. The vast array of tapas held great appeal due to their vast diversity. The bartender suggested we consider "The Fab Five." These were five of their popular dishes. It seemed simple: they had done all of... More
