This is by far the best Asian food in town hands down. Not only is there food great but they work very clean too. Having food allergies eating Chinese is always a bit risky. Usually if I can find something that won't make me Ill it has lost all flavor. However I have never had that problem here. All the... More

Although there are several fine Chinese restaurants in the Portsmouth area, this little spot on Penhallow Street truly stands out. It was lunchtime when I visited and many places can be noisy and rushed at this time. Not so here. Service was prompt and my selection was fresh and tasty. There are about two dozen lunch specials offered and each... More

Delicious food, great service with Wonton soup to die for. Try the thin noodles, yum. First Chinese restaurant I've tried in the area and I'd go back.

Growing up as a Yorker, I had been a Greenleaves loyal customer but haven't been satisfied for a while now. We are always out and about in Portsmouth, and love trying new places to eat. Finally poped into Pink Bamboo today and I am SO happy I did. Great food, not the artificial chinese taste. Hot, tasty and good. My... More

We had beef and vegetable selections and had a bit of spice to our broth. It was fantastic. Usually in New England area restaurants I have a hard time getting a decent spice level but this time we got it right the first time. The staff were also kind enough to bring more spice and vinegar to punch it up... More

We just ordered $75 worth of food to try a number of take out items. The house rice had no flavor; the shrimp and cashews was basically celery veg all with shrimp and cashews; beef and broccoli was ok, orange chicken very good, chow Mai foon ok, but again lacked real flavor. Our first attempt at Chineese food on the... More

Have eaten in several times and enjoyed the food although not as good as when they first opened. Had takeout last night and was disappointed. Pad Thai was mostly noodles with little flavor. Dragon and Phoenix was ok. Fried shrimp were three thin shrimp with veggies. We realize that takeout is not the same as eating in especially when fried... More

Definitely a pricier, more upscale Chinese restaurant- but if that's what you're looking for, you can't go wrong. I've been there twice, and was impressed with the service, atmosphere, and quality of food both times. Their orange chicken is quite unique and much lighter than the 'norm.' It's the best I've ever had! Start off with their cold sesame noodles-... More
