Saw their big billboard on Rt 1 advertising their Lobster Roll being voted Number 1 in NE. Being from the NE coast, & more importantly from a fisherman family & a'regular' with eating/ knowing seafood, I had to check it out. Casual dining (picnic tables) in a very clean, tastefully decorated restaurant (beautiful selection of flowers & colors in the... More

This place offers a lot of seafood! It serves up food "fast food" style, seating are picnic tables, it's a very informal, relaxed place but the food is OH so good. I usually don't like to eat deep fried anything, but I will here! The batter is very light and not greasy at all. Definitely a place I will return.

Stopped here for lunch. Fabulous selection of ice cream! Really, really good! Lobster roll was piled high, nice and fresh. My daughter had the crab salad which was huge! Crab was a little tasteless though. Personally, I prefer a bit more mayo in my lobster roll. Get the ice cream! You'll love it!

One of my favorite places! We take a leisurely drive up from the North Shore, stopping at thrift and antique stores along the way. And we always stop for lunch at Beach Plum. They do have the BEST lobster roll, in whatever size suits you. I got the 6 oz, which came in a buttered, browned bun with chips on... More

We heard others recommending this place for lobster rolls. The 8 oz. roll was big and delicious. The usual order comes with chips, however you can sub sweet potato fries or onion rings. We went for the fries and a spinach and strawberry salad. The food was good, however I think $67 for the aforementioned lunch was a bit much.

We dropped into this well advertised restaurant to get out of the Portsmouth rush hour. Twas a terrible mistake we made. Ordered clam chowder, chili and a shrimp basket, a beer and cup of hot coffee, cost $35.00. Chili and chowder were ok, but no better than we have had elsewhere, beer was ok, shrimp basket was a rip off... More

After a disappointing experience with my first lobster roll the day before, I went to the Beach Plum to try it again. It is a large family oriented place with picnic tables. You order at the window and get a number for your table. I ordered the smallest lobster roll, cole slaw and a lovely draft IPA ale. My first... More

I had heard mixed reviews and am suprised at all of the positive ones. I walked in to a long line and downright disgusting conditions. Every table was dirty and the floor filthy. I had to use the restroom and there was a line. The women's room was out of order and the men's filthy with a wet dangerous floor.... More

We visit NH every year and try all the local places to get a good lobster roll. I was hesitant to try Beach Plum thinking it was not going to live up to its reputation, but it did! Rolls were fantastic. Full of lobster, just enough mayo to hold it together and the bun was not overpowering. Just amazing. I... More

If you are dying for clams and in the New Hampshire sea coast area go to the beach plum. There are 2 self service restaurants. One on scenic route 1A and the other on route 1. We enjoyed our delicious fried clam dinner with a side of onion rings. The food came to our table on the outdoor patio hot... More
