We dropped into this well advertised restaurant to get out of the Portsmouth rush hour. Twas a terrible mistake we made. Ordered clam chowder, chili and a shrimp basket, a beer and cup of hot coffee, cost $35.00. Chili and chowder were ok, but no better than we have had elsewhere, beer was ok, shrimp basket was a rip off... More

After a disappointing experience with my first lobster roll the day before, I went to the Beach Plum to try it again. It is a large family oriented place with picnic tables. You order at the window and get a number for your table. I ordered the smallest lobster roll, cole slaw and a lovely draft IPA ale. My first... More

I had heard mixed reviews and am suprised at all of the positive ones. I walked in to a long line and downright disgusting conditions. Every table was dirty and the floor filthy. I had to use the restroom and there was a line. The women's room was out of order and the men's filthy with a wet dangerous floor.... More

We visit NH every year and try all the local places to get a good lobster roll. I was hesitant to try Beach Plum thinking it was not going to live up to its reputation, but it did! Rolls were fantastic. Full of lobster, just enough mayo to hold it together and the bun was not overpowering. Just amazing. I... More

If you are dying for clams and in the New Hampshire sea coast area go to the beach plum. There are 2 self service restaurants. One on scenic route 1A and the other on route 1. We enjoyed our delicious fried clam dinner with a side of onion rings. The food came to our table on the outdoor patio hot... More

Lobsta, lobsta and more lobster and the reuben is pretty good to. Convenient on rte 1 going or coming from the beach. Service is great and you can eat inside or out. You can order the lobster roll with several oz selections.

Stopped here on a late August day for lunch as we we had a yen for a lobster roll. What a treat! The 6 ounce roll was loaded with so much lobster that they gave us forks to eat it. And, no fillers like celery or mayonnaise or other things...just pure lobster meat. The roll was grilled to perfection as... More

I ordered the Big Catch haddock sandwich which consisted of a fried piece of haddock with lettuce and tartar sauce. I chose Cole slaw on the side rather than fries. It was good but not great and a bit pricey at $9.99. My wife ordered a 5 oz cheeeseburger with cole slaw on the side, at $7.49. The taste of... More

Wanted a bite before leaving NH and found the Beach Plum. My wife had the Rueben sandwich and I ordered a pint of fried scallops. We both really enjoyed our lunches. I especially enjoyed the scallops... they were large and perfectly fried. When in the area, I will definitely return.

My wife and I had lunch at this restaurant yesterday. My wife ordered a 6 ounce lobster roll and I tried the 6 ounce crab roll. The lobster roll was very average but expensive at a price of $17.99, French fries were an extra $2.50 as the rolls are normally served with a small bag of Lays chips. The crab... More
