OK, you are in Portsmouth NH for business or vacation. What do you want to eat? Lobster? In my case the answer is yes. Looking at reviews there did not seem to be a bunch of places in town that had lobster on the menu so this place stood out and we were not disappointed. There was a crowd of... More

We spent 6 days in Eliot, Maine and our first stop was Surf Restaurant. Not only were my 2 hungry, younger children thrilled with their food, but my Lobster was EXCELLENT. The menu had something for everyone and we would definitely go back.

Possibly the best dinner in years and we live in NYC! Tacos with melted brie with lobster and mango with a touch of heat. Awesome. Oysters- Perfect. Steamers, lobster, oyster shooters and cocktails, all amazing. If you are in Portsmouth you must eat here. You will not be disappointed.

Had the Portugese seafood stew and the Sessme Wasabi Tuna ... Both excellent!! Started with the cold seafood appetizer with many different associated dips and sauces, another wonderful dish. Sitting overlooking the harbor watching the ships coming and going into the river.

Gorgeous restaurant overlooking the water. Amazing seafood - I had the Lobster Kristina (I think!). It was so good. My niece had the miso salmon and it was superb. My husband and I were concerned about bring our small children to a place like this, but the staff was very accommodating! The kids LOVED looking at all the boats on... More

Beautifully displayed Asian fusion cuisine. I like sushi but at Surf I love sushi. I am telling you, you have never had or tried sushi that tastes as great as this. Relaxing atmosphere with beautiful views. Food and atmosphere is grand. One of my favorites in quaint Portsmouth, NH.

Headed up the coast starting in Salisbury heading north. Found ourselves looking for a place for lunch as we arrived in Portsmouth. Surf was the best place we could have found as we were lucky to get seating on the balcony over the water. Four tables on a balcony overlooking river. Great view. Served the best white sangria I have... More

Unique seafood dishes and fabulous view - right on water. For our appetizers we had delicious salmon cakes (like crab cakes) with a remoulade sauce and clam chowder chocked full of seafood. Both were excellent. For our main courses we had the portobello stuffed flounder with baby shrimp and artichoke risotto cakes. We also had the panco baked cod with... More
