Pleasant Surprise

We stumbled on this restaurant when sight seeing close to the harbour. Service was good in a very pleasant and cosy atmosphere. The Lobster Bisque is excellent. Good value for money

Great service and wonderful food in this charmingly rustic restaurant. The wait staff was so friendly and knowledgeable of the menu which helped our decision making process. The food was fantastic and unique and made for a very romantic, lovely evening.

Great location, very charming restaurant but no greeting area so guests are left to wander around and look for someone to help them. Waitress was very nice and helpful but initial greeting was frosty.

We took advantage of restaurant week for our first Mombo experience. It won't be our last. The service was impeccable from the moment we walked in the door. It is evident that Chef/Owner Tom Perron really cares about the guest experience (he was a food runner the night we dined). My wife had the duck confit, seafood chipano (superb), and... More

My friend and I went up for a day trip and was able to take advantage of Mombo during restaurant week. The staff was very friendly. When we were seated we had been place at a lovely table near the wine room on the second floor, but unfortunately the guests next to us were talking so loudly (they had a... More

I've been wanting to try Mombo's for a while. Took advantage of restaurant week and so glad we did. From the minute we walked in we were welcomed in. We were seated and our server Lainey was great. Very helpful and made great recommendations which we loved all of them. We had Prawns and a duck salad, seafood dish (don't... More

We have wanted to try Mombo for some time, and this year's restaurant week presented a perfect opportunity. Unfortunately, our experience did not live up to the hype. Service: very good -- prompt and friendly. Atmosphere: somewhat noisy, but strangest thing was the oversized table for two. We had to speak very loudly to be heard, and it removed the... More

Came to Mombo a few days ago for restaurant week with my boyfriend...We were thoroughly impressed! There was so much to choose from, so we ended up trying the 3 course menu. Our server, Tim, was very knowledgeable about the food and the restaurant itself. As soon as you walk through the door everyone is cheerful and accommodating. If you... More

If you have not been here, you need to make a reservation and go. In the summer there is outdoor seating which is great. The restaurant is very attractive - seating upstairs as well as downstairs, even a chef's table for a great experience, but I prefer to sit right at the classy bar. This is where you will find... Each time that we come in for dinner, I continue to be amazed, delighted and surprised! This has to be one of the top restaurants in Portsmouth NH - not only for their food, but the staff and management "tops" in the industry. The last several times we have taken our seats right at the beautiful bar because behind this... More
