Lovely setting and food

Been here about four times now Lovely place to wine and dine in Portsmouth Food is lovely, menu extensive to suit most tastes and portions are quite big. Very tasty food!! Only bad thing I would remark on is the overly attentive staff- I guess that can't be a bad thing for some but when I was... read more

The most accommodating Chef on the Seacoast! The tuna bites are outstanding, and the outdoor fireplace seating perfect for a spring, summer or fall evening. Thanks!

If there is a better restaurant in Portsmouth, I don't know what it is. The food choices are interesting/innovative and the preparation in three straight tries has been spot on. Service is uniformly excellent. And it is the little things that truly make a difference. We had an early (6pm) Saturday reservation for 2. We were taken to a (very... More

I brought a group of 40+ VIPs to Mombo for dinner on a Sunday evening. We worked with Casey Syvertsen, the event manager for planning, and she was there for our event, as well. I can't say enough wonderful things about Casey - she's so responsive, easy to work with, and is so accommodating. Our entire group had a wonderful... More

Spent a wonderful early evening anniversary dinner at Mombo yesterday with my wife and we absolutely loved the service, atmosphere and food at this restaurant. A good wine selection led us to a Nora Albarino white that was simply excellent paired with our appetizer cheese plate that was good if not uneventful. The pickled blueberries were excellent but the blue... More

Mombo came highly recommended, but our group was sorely disappointed. We placed our orders at 7:15pm and finally received our dinners at 8:40pm. During this time we politely made several inquiries with both our server and the manager but received no helpful information from either. Water glasses went unfilled, requests for both additional bread and glasses of wine went unanswered.... More

We just had a 90th birthday luncheon for my mother at Mombo. Everything was perfect. The food was outstanding and the service impeccable. The staff went out of their way to make the event a huge success. They were easy to work with and were willing to design a menu to our liking. I have dined there a few times... More

Mombo is a small town restaurant owned in part or whole by Thomas Perron. There were at least 3 guests, if not more, at this wedding reception whom were treated rudely by Thomas Perron, Mombo’s owner. Some of the guests were drinking adult beverages and some like me were drinking non-alcoholic soda. Perron went way out of his way to... More

Dear xxyy T, We are saddened to read your review and wish that you took a bit more time to recount the events that left you upset. While you may feel that the owner went out of his way to be “unsophisticated, coarse, aggressive, abrupt and rude”, it was not without warrant. And we feel those adjectives are callous and... More

What a great restaurant! It's right across the street from Prescott Park and has plenty of free parking. We were contemplating having our wedding here, but decided to have it closer to home. Nonetheless the staff was super friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing! Thank you!

I attended a large corporate dinner at Mombo. The food was delicious! Wonderful spinach, watermelon and goat cheese salad - very refreshing! The chicken entree was also very good and the dark chocolate dessert was decadant. The timeliness of the meal was lacking. It took awhile for the courses to be served - unsure of the reasoning for that but... More
