This is a comfortable restaurant on a very nice waterside location with good food. BE CARE however. Their specialty alcohol drinks are VERY EXPENSIVE, more so than high end restaurants in the area, and they don't list the prices. We were really surprised and a bit upset.

nice location, water view, sat out on the deck. We ordered the clam chowder, swordfish, fried clams and fried scallops. All were really good. Clam chowder was excellent - as was the swordfish. Wine prices were reasonable. We ordered a house margarita - which was great. Great service, good prices. Would definetly go back.

Felt like a "regular"...first time eating there. Food was great. Liked eating on the covered deck, looking out at the view. Vacation at its best. Headed back today!

Our first visit after BG's being recommended by friends. While the setting is a nice water and boat dock view, and the service was very good, the food was barely ok at best. I had the Fried Calms which were over done, rubbery, and had a "bad oil" taste. My spouse had the Lobster Role which was only ok, The... More

WE were there on Tuesday night. We went by dingy as its right off the inlet from the marina. We waited 5 mins to clear a table and sat outside right on the water. We had a great frozen mudslide, huge, they put it in a tall beer glass, my husband had a beer, the kids had lemonade. We had... More

My wife and I and our son and grandson came here for our final meal of a week-long vacation as I had saved it for last based on many previous visits. Two of us had fried seafood platters and one had fish and chips. All the meals were terrible. The seafood platters consisted of undercooked scallops that were coated with... More

BG's is a summer staple for me, a great place to get a fried seafood fix. It is right on Sagamore creek, outdoor seating, and though offers up plastic silverware and paper plates, is about as upscale as you are going to find in a fried seafood shack (beer in real glasses, cocktails, full bar). Lobster, catch of the day... More

I went here once before and it was good, what you would expect from a fried seafood place. However, I took my fiance for a late lunch. I ordered the scallops and they were okay. He ordered the fried haddock and it smelled so awful we both almost threw up!! The waitress was nice about it and we ordered another... More

We recently had the opportunity to sample some local cuisine and atmosphere in New Castle/ Portsmouth NH. Our friends have been coming to BG's for years and, now, we understand the attraction. The food, service, ambiance, were outstanding. Parking is easy and the views were excellent. We will be back on our next area visit.
