Great chowda

We stopped into BG's for lunch based on Tripadvisor reviews and very pleased with our decision. As former Mainers now living in North Carolina we greatly miss New England style clam chowder and BG's hit the mark with a large bowl loaded with clams in a flavorful cream broth. Actually the only... read more

This is off the beaten path and is a well known place where locals tend to go for a laid back meal in a picturesque coastal setting. When looking for a casual place to take a few friends (smaller groups are better in my opinion) this is a place I like to go. While a coworker from Chicago was visiting... More

We decided to go back here with friends who had never been. After waiting for 40 minutes in the bar there was an outside table available for us. After being seated at our table 35 minutes went by with nobody coming to serve us. Finally we got the attention of the person serving as hostess and she said she is... More

I am writing to explain what a Lazy Lobster Dinner dinner is when we prepare it. It is a 1 1/4 lb lobster taken out of the shell, sauted in butter or batter dipped and golden fried of which the tail, claws, knuckles should all be included in this dish. I myself work every night and oversee the dishes that... More

The dockside atmosphere is OK with a choice of indoor, outdoor, or covered patio. Service was friendly and speedy but a little more laid back than ideal. (Tip: if you, a waitstaffer, spill tartar sauce on the table in front of s guest, wipe it up.) We had clam chowder, toasted corn and shrimp chowder, fish sandwich, whole clams, fries... More

Good variety of seafood. Friendly, courteous service. The chowders are must tries. Expect paper and plastic dinnerware.

OK paper plates and plastic knifes and forks, drinks in plastic glasses; however, food was great. Think about it you are on the coast of NH what would make the fish not taste good. Everything was fresh. The chowders tasted like they should. I had a corn and shrimp chowder and husband had clam chowder. We both had the lazy... More

A great little place, found purely by accident after our visit to the nearby Water Country water park. We found it to be friendly, with fast & efficient service and nice, well-cooked and well-presented food. All you city folk who think that restaurants equivalent to Spago's are around every corner, just beware ! This is a great unpretentious 'local' restaurant... More

So I have been to BG's Boathouse a few times. Never really impressed but this last time I went, was really bad. We arrived and sat in the back bar area - inside - it was a bit too chilly to sit outside on the deck. No one was in the bar area so we sat ourselves at a table... More

We have been going by this restaurant for a few years and it always had a lot of cars in the parking lot. We decided to try it on a recent visit south from Maine. The service was very slow even though everyone was pleasant. I ordered a lobster roll, my husband a cod sandwich. Their wasn't a lot of... More
