Salty atmosphere with a menu to match.

Good variety of seafood. Friendly, courteous service. The chowders are must tries. Expect paper and plastic dinnerware.

We decided to go back here with friends who had never been. After waiting for 40 minutes in the bar there was an outside table available for us. After being seated at our table 35 minutes went by with nobody coming to serve us. Finally we got the attention of the person serving as hostess and she said she is... More

BG's boat house has turned into BG's to-go fast food stand. For over 30 years my family has summered in the area. I have no idea what has transpired in the recent years but this place has gone into the toilet! The host Lauren, Laurie, Laura- no idea what she said because she wouldn't look at me when she spoke,... More

I am responding to this review as the owner to let you know that I have owned this business for 38 years. We average 5 take out orders per day. I am in the kitchen daily and there wasn't any food order that took .45 minutes as I check the slips and all of our hostesses are very respectful and... More

The dockside atmosphere is OK with a choice of indoor, outdoor, or covered patio. Service was friendly and speedy but a little more laid back than ideal. (Tip: if you, a waitstaffer, spill tartar sauce on the table in front of s guest, wipe it up.) We had clam chowder, toasted corn and shrimp chowder, fish sandwich, whole clams, fries... More

OK paper plates and plastic knifes and forks, drinks in plastic glasses; however, food was great. Think about it you are on the coast of NH what would make the fish not taste good. Everything was fresh. The chowders tasted like they should. I had a corn and shrimp chowder and husband had clam chowder. We both had the lazy... More

A great little place, found purely by accident after our visit to the nearby Water Country water park. We found it to be friendly, with fast & efficient service and nice, well-cooked and well-presented food. All you city folk who think that restaurants equivalent to Spago's are around every corner, just beware ! This is a great unpretentious 'local' restaurant... More

So I have been to BG's Boathouse a few times. Never really impressed but this last time I went, was really bad. We arrived and sat in the back bar area - inside - it was a bit too chilly to sit outside on the deck. No one was in the bar area so we sat ourselves at a table... More

We have been going by this restaurant for a few years and it always had a lot of cars in the parking lot. We decided to try it on a recent visit south from Maine. The service was very slow even though everyone was pleasant. I ordered a lobster roll, my husband a cod sandwich. Their wasn't a lot of... More

I ate at BG's Boathouse for the first time the other day. The food was good, server was great, view was incredible. They could probably try to find a better host, or at least train the blond lady to pretend to be friendly. I probably won't be back. Off putting.

I was referred by a friend & the reviews were good, we went expecting it to be great. The view was beautiful & the staff were great. The BG burger was huge & delicious, the smelts were also quite good. Lobster bisque had 1 little lump of claw meat in the bottom of the bowl, fried clams were so chewy... More
