The common man in Portsmouth has been one of my favorite restaurants! My girlfriend and I ate there all the time because they had a wonderful gluten-free menu option. So sad to see that they are gone and hope they pop back up soon

We stopped for dinner while shooping in Portsmouth. The service was terrific and the portions were huge. I will return often.

My girlfriend and I were looking for a new place to eat and we tried The Common Man. It was an awesome experience. I called the Thursday before to make a reservation and the General Mgr. Jeff took my call and politely took our reservation. We pulled up to the front door and we were greeted by free valet parking.... More

Friends and I enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Common Man. Service was prompt, yet not rushed; the staff friendly. The menu is eclectic - nice selections from which to choose. The food was good!

We're in Portsmouth for our annual trip with 3 other couples and decided to eat at The Common Man for dinner. We were seated immediately and enjoyed a great meal served by a wonderful waitress. I had the Portsmouth Pie which is a creamy mix of seafood. It was served piping hot and was delicious. We will definitely put this... More

I made 7pm reservations for a Saturday night. We were promptly seated. They have free valet parking, which is a huge plus on a cold Saturday night in Portsmouth. The food is like all other Common Man Restaurants. Yummy comfort food. We were all happy with our meals. The escargot app was great. The ahi tuna meal was great. The... More

We were meeting with people from out of town. One just flew in from Florida. The hostess could see that he was cold. She set us up at the table by the fireplace. That was how a wonderful evening started. All the food and drinks were perfect. The entire staff made you feel like you were the only ones they... More

My husband and I stayed one night in Portsmouth and wanted some comfort food for lunch. We decided to try "The Common Man"...and we were very pleased. My husband had the New England Pot Roast which was excellent...tender meat with excellent mashed potatoes, carrots, peas and green beans. I had the delicious butternut squash ravioli with a very fresh garden... More
