Wonderful tapas restaurant

Fresh, creative, delicious tapas. I've been there several times and always had a great meal. Staff are very helpful. Unusual to find a restaurant of this quality in NH and great to have vegan and vegetarian options, also rare in most restaurants in this area. Food is expertly prepared and served.

We love Cava! Just went here again to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. We sat at the open kitchen table and were able to watch our food being made and chat with the chef, Greg. Everything, food, drinks, people, atmosphere is incredible. Highly recommend for a special occasion, or any time you want fantastic food!

We live in Portsmouth and this is our favorite place. We love that it's in its own quiet little alley, the outdoor seating is nice, the food is always to die for, and the service is always superb. Love it!

Unfortunately, there's not a rating that is between average and very good so I had to give Cava an average rating. It's a cute restaurant located on a quaint alley. The service was good and the food is good, not great IMO. I had a good cocktail to start out with (can't remember the name). My dining companion and I... More

We were en route to Portsmouth, planning to eat at The Black Birch in Kittery. That place was closed, so I used Trip Advisor to locate another option. We were meeting friends who also work in restaurants with us. The reviews for Cava were mostly positive with one negative, nasty review. It was a little hard to find the menu,... More

We had dinner here on a crowded Fri. night. Ordered the tasting menu with wines to match. Everything was fantastically good. The wine pairings were excellent, consisting of two 6 oz. glasses and one smaller with dessert, this last being more than we could manage. We found the downstairs bar very pleasant. Only downside is that they don't take reservations... More

We're not quite empty nesters going out for drinks without the kids. Saw a good rating here and happened by without reservation. Was seated at a dark bar in the basement and the corner location left limited real estate. The food choices were amazing, and the smiles followed. And sharing it requires less space. The drinks were spot on and... More

My husband and i sat outside on a warm summer evening. The outside patio is beautiful with plants and vines. The tables are small, perhaps for an intimate feeling. Huge wine list. The waitress was very helpful when I was trying to make a choice, as I did not recognize many of the wines I was looking at. It was... More

We ate in the cool comfortable downstairs dining room. The tapas menu brought back wonderful memories of Barcelona. My husband is a meat eater and I am a vegetarian, we found delicious small plates that each of could enjoy. The service was impeccable and comfortable. Can't wait to go back!
