Description: The restaurant at the 1785 Inn is located in a historic building overlooking famous mountain scenery (the 7th most photographed nature scene in the U.S.) A travel guide newsletter recently called it "One of the top 15 views in the world from a hotel or inn." All meals are cooked to order with the freshest possible ingredients (in spring/summer/fall the vegetables & herbs come from their own gardens or local farms). The service is friendly and the wine list is extensive (has received the "Award of Excellence" for 25 consecutive years from the Wine Spectator magazine). The desserts are all made at the Inn (including some that are flambed tableside). The critics have called it "an amazing value" and "the best place to stay or eat in North Conway." A relaxing luonge is also avilable for drinks, some lighter food, or one of their desserts.

We had a dinner there in early July. The food was very “beautiful” and delicious. The people are friendly. However, they made the food only when ordered, so it was very slow. If you are fine to stay long I would recommend this restaurant. If you just want to have a quick dinner (~ 1 hour), don’t even think of... More

How many ways can one say that one of the best restaurants in the Mt. Washington Valley, NH has closed for Good? Still a B&B, but they've stopped serving the public. Very Sad. Hopefully, they'll reconsider after a brief respite.

This used to be a fabulous, high-end restaurant, and we were ready to make reservations this year. Alas, they have closed and are only keeping the inn open with attendant breakfast for guests. Bummer!

I am shocked by how many good reviews this restaurant has received. The 2 star rating comprises the romantic atmosphere inside which provided us with a view of the white mountains from our dining table. It also includes the service which was attentive and friendly. The food however, was another story altogether and this in my view is what separates... More

This restaurant was one of my wife's and I favorite in the North Conway area. We had reservations to go back there for my 50th birthday dinner only to find out the owner shut the restaurant down. We both will miss this place for the fabulous cuisine they had and pray it will open back up again.

After 31 years of constant work and supervision, the owners needed a break for some personal time. They are still open for B&B lodging, so if you stay here, you can till get Becky's famous cooking & baking. More

My boyfriend took me here for my Birthday dinner. The view of the white mountains was beautiful. The server was very knowledgeable, very friendly and very attentive. Every course was delicious and perfectly prepared. I truly enjoyed trying rabbit for the first time. This was a more of a special occasion place for us as it can be pricey. It... More

Disappointing dinner, food was not very enterprising (although it had a lot of awards, which was surprising to us) and over flavored, it looked like the cook had simply used whatever herbs were to hand and thrown them into the melange, presentation was poor, lighting was dismal, Wine list was extensive and not justified considering the quality of the food.

We had a lovely dinner here. The dining area is quaint and cozy, and some tables have wonderful views. Most of the preparations seem old school, like Caesar salad and bananas foster prepared table side. We had the roast duck and the cod special, both of which were tasty; both were accompanied by well prepared fresh vegetables. The portions were quite... More

We had 4 adults and 2 of the 4 were disappointed in their meal. Rabbit was overcooked for one and the other said his was just ok. The other 2 adults enjoyed their meal. Waitress was very friendly at first and then got very curt with us and then very friendly again and then curt over and over. It was... More

We had a dinner voucher for this place and after reading the menu we had to try it! Everything was excellent, from the service to the food and dessert. We even had a little history lesson on the Caesar salad. Would definitely recommend trying!
