Description: The restaurant at the 1785 Inn is located in a historic building overlooking famous mountain scenery (the 7th most photographed nature scene in the U.S.) A travel guide newsletter recently called it "One of the top 15 views in the world from a hotel or inn." All meals are cooked to order with the freshest possible ingredients (in spring/summer/fall the vegetables & herbs come from their own gardens or local farms). The service is friendly and the wine list is extensive (has received the "Award of Excellence" for 25 consecutive years from the Wine Spectator magazine). The desserts are all made at the Inn (including some that are flambed tableside). The critics have called it "an amazing value" and "the best place to stay or eat in North Conway." A relaxing luonge is also avilable for drinks, some lighter food, or one of their desserts.

My husband and i went here for dinner. The service, view, and food were all great, however, the reason we will be going back is the homemade blueberry pie. We are native New Englanders, and this is hands fown the best pie we have ever had!! The maitre'd came by to check on our satisfaction andd we told him how... More

The Inn keeper and our waiter were just super nice! We went on a weekend and had no reservations but that was not an issue when we arrived. The waiter had a great knowledge of the menu and helped make this a great experience. To start we split a goat cheese and asparagus risotto that was really good…For dinner I... More

Although I will forever tell my grandchildren about my first date with their grandma at this restaurant, and how lovely the table by the fireplace was where we sat, I cannot shake off how small the portions were. Nonetheless, the food was delicious, and we enjoyed every bit of it. Obviously, we had to order more stuff just to fill... More

I found this restaurant on trip advisor and I am glad I ignored the grumpy people reviews and decided to take my boyfriend here for his birthday dinner. The food was excellent and the people were genuinely kind. I ordered a variety of appetizers instead of committing to an entrée and I am glad because the lobster crêpe was amazing!!!... More

Decor: interesting historic property, excellent views of fields & mountains. Could use a bit of maintenance, while maintaining historic charm. Service: solid service, single server for all functions. Inn owner very personable and helpful, genuine. Food: higher end format followed (eg sorbet between courses), than quality of food produced. Venison carpaccio largely tasteless. Steak - mushrooms and wine reduction, potatoes,... More

We hadn't been back to 1785 for a number of years because of 2 previously poor service experiences but we decided to celebrate a birthday by trying it again for old times sake.. The inn is conveniently located in a lovely area with excellent views of the surrounding mountains, especially on a clear evening. We were greeted very hospitably and... More

The beautiful experience we had at the 1785 Inn made our 22nd anniversary an evening we will never forget. The Inn is both cozy and elegant but not at all stuffy. Our server Adam was extremely knowledgeable and professional, striking the perfect balance of attention and helpfulness. We came on a busy Saturday night but all the waitstaff had the... More

We celebrated our 21st Anniversary with friends at the 1785 Inn restaurant and could not have been more pleased. It is early in the season and there were not many other diners but that made the experience seem more private. The staff was friendly and fun, not too stuffy but offering top notch service. The food was delicious. Best of... More
