Good Pub Grub

Stopped in for an early supper and had a good burger and cold beer. The downstairs is more restaurant while the upstairs is a bar with TVs. Good place to catch a game if you are a Patriots fan.

Bring an appetite, the portions are large. We always start with a few apps. Everything we've had here has been great. The service is great as well.

Been here numerous times and have had a good experience each time whether it be for a beer and an app at the bar or a sit down meal with friends or seeing a band. This last time was for an event after a golf tourney. Good buffet and snack foods, good beer options, fun time! They have a 3rd... More

We were at the Newport craft fair on Saturday, which was wonderful by the way. Lots of wonderful unusual and authentic crafts. Great vibe in the air. Plug for the annual Newport library book sale as well. At any rate, the lines for food were long so we stopped at an irish pub in town. Must have hit it just... More

Good Irish pub atmosphere and food. We participate in Pub Trivia on Sundays at Salt Hill in Newport. The staff is great, very attentive and sometimes they even give us an answer or two. Always a great selection of beers on tap.

This was a wonderful find in a small town in NH! My sisters and I were out on "girls day" and found this place on line. It seems very popular w the locals too cause it was crowded for a Monday evening. The menu was Irish pub fare extremely large portions and just like home cooked. BAngers and mash, Mac... More

Food was good, but wish we had arrived earlier. It was open mic night and while the first guy was good and played covers of songs most everyone knew and played to the crowd in the pub, but the second young lady was playing independently written songs that only she knew and we didn't enjoy listening to her whining while... Salt Hill is one of the best things that has ever happened to Newport! The food is great and the bar stays clean & dosen't have that scuzzy feel that goes along with other Newport locations. Just as a side note, Biddy Irwin's profile posing with the governor proves what a stuffed shirt she is & how she thinks she... More

Having only recently moved to Newport NH, we've been looking for a nice place for a microbrew, live music, and a good meal when we want one. Salt Hill Pub fulfills all our needs! Great service, good food, a decent selection - the bar menu upstairs is an abbreviated version of the full downstairs restaurant menu - at good to... More
