Pleasant atmosphere; great margaritas; good food; large portions; nice fire pit outside. A nice evening out. Reminds me a little of Cancun

The menu at Lil' Red Baron is extensive and I never know what I'm going to have because they also have great specials. There is outdoor seating in the summer and they often have bands. Without the outdoor seating, space is pretty limited. But it's certainly worth the wait if you like Mexican food.

We had read about Lil' Red Baron a few years ago but since it's a drive for us had been hesitant about going. Friends invited us for lunch (served Friday-Sunday) and we had a great time. Our server, Shannon, was attentive without being intrusive. I had the chicken enchiladas with verde (green) sauce. A little spicy and very tasty. Served... More

Lil Red Baron is found in the north part of Newport, New Hampshire, alongside the Newport airfield. I had a chicken and bean burrito with sides of chili and sweet potato fries. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food was great, the service was excellent, and there was no wait, despite arriving on a busy evening. They can prepare for whatever... More

A little hidden place adjacent to the local tiny airport filled with interesting eclectic decorative accents. Lovely waitress, friendly and efficient. White sangria served with fresh fruit on the rim...very good and very well priced ($3.00). Food was delicious, a great place for dinner with entertainment in the later hours on some nights. Not open for lunch....doors unlock at 4.... More

We knew we were in trouble a half hour after ordering when the waitress told one of our party that his entree was not available. We had to wait over an hour before receiving our food. The waitress said "Don't blame me, I don't cook the food", and her attitude got worse from there. Meanwhile, other patrons had arrived and... More

Got an order for take out, the food was not great. Fish tacos were decent and that's about it. Queso dip was inedible. Salsa was clearly made with canned tomatoes. Chips were good. Chimchanga was wet and undercooked. Largely unimpressed. Staff was friendly. Here's my biggest problem though: The hostess took my order and got my food. I'm sorry, I... More

My sincerest apologies for your troubles from this visit - it is our intent that every dish is prepared perfectly and quickly but know that this is not always achieved... My biggest concern is also about the apparent tip added to your card. I personally close out and adjust the CC tips 95% of the time and I can assure... More

Let's be honest there isn't alot out here to choose from! Good atmosphere, nice staff, good drinks. Food is ok. They close very early (9 pm) so don't plan to linger.

If the food is merely very good and not particularly creative Mexican, the friendly waitstaff and the vibrant atmosphere still make it a fun place for dinner or lunch. Adjacent to the sleepy Newport Airport (in 8 visits or so, I've never seen a plane take off or land), it's a hidden gem away from the slightly grungy city of... More

Im doing a new review because my last update did not post for some reason. Since my first review of the red baron a couple of things have changed. First, the service is better. The baron has found a really better class of waitresses.more professional, friendly, and knowledgable re: the menu. Secondly, and more important....The food! The last few times....especially the...
