Food was average, drinks the same, coffee could you some improvement, was luke warm at best, have not been there in quite a while, definitely not as good as I remember.

This used to be one of our favorite spots, but lately they have a Storm Trooper working the dining room . He is abrasive and rude, we definitely have the impression that he is some kind of a manager with very poor people skills. It's almost impossible to relax and enjoy the meals that have dropped in quality from what... More

This is certainly not a 5-star restaurant - but it is definitely deserves five stars as a tavern / pub. It's not "fine dining", but it's very fine casual dining in a convivial atmosphere. Having burgers there with a friend, we both received our burgers exactly as ordered - which is something that doesn't happen often. When we visited, there... More

Newmarket has been enjoying a renaissance over the few years we bought a condo by the Lamprey River. We have been eating at the River Tavern about once every couple of weeks since then. While other restaurants on Main Street have become more "chic", the River Tavern has gone a bit down hill over that time. The famous Saturday night... More

My friends and I made the worst mistake of trying the Lamprey River Tavern for breakfast because the Big Bean had a lot of people waiting. Readers beware: wait as long as it takes!! The breakfast we ordered took about 45 minutes to arrive and when it arrived, one meal at a time, the meals were varied between warm and... More

A good spot for lunch, with a typical pub style menu. Breakfast was a disappointment - overcooked poached eggs, soso coffee.

We stopped in here while waiting for our friend to get off work. We were in town for a mini vacation. Place was nice , drinks were good and notexpensive. We came back later that night for supper. Food was good and prices were decent. If your looking for a nice bar stop in. Felt like home.

We went with another couple on pasta night. I had the chicken marsala. The pasta was way overcooked such that it all stuck together. I later found out that my friend went by the kitchen and said it was dirty with spaghetti on the floor. I regret that I didn't send back my meal.

Maple Bacon - BLT! Plus sweet potatoe fries for $8! And not even the special! PBR at a great price Mai Tai Monday $3 - not for me, but $1 off drinks for happy hour. Great juke box, high end technology for a regular Southern NH pub. Another big window on the Main Street place that was a great place... More
