The place seems to be overrated due to its location but the food was pretty bad to say the least. My friend and I both ordered the salmon salad and humorously the server actually asked us how we wanted it cooked. Haha, when she brought the plates over I couldn't believe it. We each received a square postage stamp size... More

I have visited Wentworth by the Sea and eaten at Lattitudes as well as the Green Bean several times. I had tried to eat at the Salt in the past but the dining room was closed. On Sunday we ate at Salt because the other restaurants were filled. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was great and the atmosphere was... More

We had high hopes for Salt. We watched it being built and renovated, and then we heard so much from our friends who paid early visits ("The salmon is unbelievable"). Unfortunately, Salt does not have staying power, other than in a sadly disappointing way. The Good: Salt is a retrofit that, stylistically, is quite attractive. The entry has been moved... More

Well worth the money, everything was really really good, great value here. Loved the waffle bar, unusual and good.

Enjoying a New Hampshire week-end at Wentworth-by-the-Sea and partook of their on-location restaurant, Salt. We had a wonderful meal at a window-side table, watching a beautiful September sunset. The restaurant is upscale-modern and charming, and the service excellent. My swordfish special was good to very good, but a tad on the cool side. Mrs. Gyr's lobster ravioli was, however, warm... Salt is OK for breakfast; avoid it for dinner. Our reservation was screwed up Waiter needed serious training, screwed up our order and it took forever. Much better places available in Portsmouth for far less $$$

We spent several days at the Wentworth Resort and Spa and dined at Salt for 2 evenings during our stay. Both nights the restaurant was very crowded and alive with conservation. The restaurant has what appears to be different dining areas: a bar/lounge spot, the chef's bar-top table and the main dining area which has several sections. Our table locations... More

I'm always a little leery of "hotel dining", but Salt hit on all cylinders on our recent visit. The dining room is beautiful, and now a little less formal than the previous restaurant. The bar is beautiful and was quite busy on our Friday evening visit. Service was pleasant and professional, and the kitchen was turning out food very fast... More

The restaurant is located in the Wentworth Hotel, a wonderful old beach hotel with beautiful grounds which has been restored by the Marriott Co. There is a nouveau bar area and a more formal dining room with a gorgeous ceiling. There is also diniing on the wrap around porch which is where we ate. The waiter was very helpful with... More
