Birthday celebration

My husband and I celebrated my birthday at the Wentworth. I had visited here in the "80s when the place was in shambles. The renovations are amazing. We had an amazing view of the harbor from our room. The whole experience was nostalgic yet new. My family celebrated with dinner at Salt. Unique... read more

First time there after hearing so many great things. We could not have been more impressed. The food was great and the cocktails were equally impressive. The staff was on top of making sure we had everything we needed, considering it was her 2nd day on the job. She didn't miss anything, great job!!!!!!! We enjoyed seats at the Chef's... More

We had dinner elswhere but came back both nights to the bar at Salt. It was a nice place to sit, relax and have a drink or dessert. We would have liked to try diner there but time and plans didnt allow it this time.

Had lunch here during "Restaurant Week" in Portsmouth. A wonderful "old grand lady" of a hotel. Thank God it was saved from usual "developers" some years ago. To the restaurant. All great except the veal saltimbocca (hence the less than 5 stars). It was really not up to par with veal tough and dry. Everything else was great. The salad... More

We had breakfast every day at Salt. My wife has dietary restrictions and they made every accommodation for her. The lobster omelet is the best omelet my wife has ever had. We had dinner our first night at the hotel and the halibut was some of the finest we have had. The beignets were to die for. We came back... More

Couldn't have asked for a better "pre" Easter feast! Since the hotel's Annual Easter Brunch was sold out six weeks before the event (that says something!) my family and I decided to celebrate by staying at the hotel and eating at Salt the night before. The service was fast and accommodating, food was impeccable - especially the seafood, and the... More

We loved the fact that they have a great bar area to enjoy a drink or two before your dinner reservation, they have quaint little tables, sofas, bar seats, and high tops to chose from.we noticed that some people were having their dinners in this area as well. In the main dining room the decor is lovely. We were seated... More

Last weekend my wife I were celebrating a special occasion and we decided to check out the Salt Kitchen & Bar at the Wentworth. This is a fairly new restaurant and replaced the very formal (and very stuffy) restaurant on the main floor of the hotel. What a transformation! The cathedral ceiling and fireplaces are still there but the other... More

During a recent stay at the Wentworth, we ate both lunch and dinner at Salt. Both experiences were great. Their cheeseburger was outstanding! The bar and lounge seating area is luxurious but casual. For dinner we sat in the restaurant which is quite lovely. The service and food was fantastic. My husband highly recommends the filet and I say try... More
