As a resident of Portsmouth, NH, I have many great restaurants at my finger tips. Its one of the perks of living there. Salt has filled a gap for me that needed to be filled.. It serves after 9:00PM!! The food is excellent, the service very welcoming as well as professional. The menu is diverse and changed often. Full bar... More

We had a dinner program here last week and it was very nicely handled. Dean is the manager and took care of our private room along with all the details. The staff and waitresses are well trained and charming. It was quite a sight when almost the entire staff each came in holding our dinner platings and placed it before... More

First things first, this place is beautiful, and in one of the most amazing and famous hotels on the eastern seaboard - The Wentworth. Upon entrance there's an amazing bar, open pizza oven/prep kitchen, and a handful of seating areas, including a couple private rooms, and the private wine room table. So, 5 stars on all of that. The place... More

My wife, niece and I had dinner at Salt Kitchen while staying at the Wentworth. My wife and niece aren't big eaters so we ordered several small dishes that we could share - a flatbread (pizza, really, which was actually quite large), a beet salad, a half-order of a pasta dish with seafood, and an appetizer with mixed pork, veal... The Lobster Bisque is unbelievably good. This restaurant has been totally redone and is quite beautiful. We do miss the old world charm of the former lounge and dining room, but are getting used to this sleek new rendition.

Truly, this was one of the best meals we have ever had ! It was a late lunch and sat in the Kitchen Bar.... really elegant. Get a flatbread pizza and Caesar salad... We split them both and still had pizza to bring home. So impressive was this establishment that we made dinner reservations for next week (we also live... More

Wentworth did a nice job redoing their classic dining room to live up to today's hip standards. There are many different areas that flow nicely into each other, with a oyster bar area, large group block table, hightop seating, more classic dining table, couch area by fireplace and finally a large table in a semi private area in a library-type... I was here with the Red Hat Society. We chose Wentworth By The Sea to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We were seated in a room that must of had carpet. I was unable to slide my chair The chairs were beautiful, large almost a curved double chair, but they were heavy and awkward to handle. I was disappointed with the... More

I know its in a hotel but it's a fun atmosphere and bar area. Great drinks and apps - will go again to try a full meal.

I decided on the Salt Kitchen for a special family trip for Father's Day. Although the ambiance was just as lovely as described in reviews, the food was disappointing. I ordered the 1/2 portion of Lobster Ravioli for lunch for $16, expecting maybe 4 or 5 raviolis. I was shocked to see only 2 raviolis presented on a full entrée... More
