Good overall; indifference on display at the hostess desk

My wife and I had dinner here on a slow summer Saturday evening. The lows: The two young ladies at the hostess desk displayed attitudes just this side of surly. The manager was not in evidence; if one was present, they weren't paying attention. The highs: Very good food; attentive and... read more

The food is good, the drinks are good (it is a pub) but the condiments are a work of art! Add in good music and it is a great place.

My wife and I had dinner at the bar, I ordered the burger & fries and a beer. The place did have that unclean beer/bar smell. The food came quickly, it looked good, tasted good. I asked for some catsup and was given a bowl with a spoon in it with catsup but it had been used by others, not... More

Went there with a group. Service was very friendly, but food took a long time to come out, and some of the dishes (esp. the chicken) got mediocre reviews. I had fish and chips which were good. Prices were good, atmosphere is very relaxed, but got very noisy when the band came on.

First time visit, with some friends for lunch. Nice place, friendly staff. Food selection was decent, not amazing. But it's a pub, pub type food. Reminds me of pubs in England. Only criticism for me was that the service was slow given the place was not full. Would go again.

Despite the creepy name, the Peddler's Daughter is worth the trip from Boston for a fun, authentic, friendly Irish bar. It's spacious and cozy, the music is usually great, there are plenty of TVs (but not the obnoxious wall-sized kind), and the bar tenders don't ignore you. A $5 cover on busy nights keeps the crowds down and the (most... More

Nice setting, right on the water. It is probably a great place for a beer and pub food, but breakfast is not their thing. Really my fault, because I didn't realize it was an Irish restaurant/bar when I selected it from my GPS menu. The Bloody Mary's were good. My corned beef hash cake was more cake than corned beef.... Service was quick, food was good (real ketchup!). The only drawback was the live music...we were with two other couples as the band was setting up. Once they started playing their music overtook the entire bar and conversation was impossible, and we left at that point rather than having one or two more rounds.

I love going to the Peddler's Daughter! The food is good quality, and they usually have some interesting specials that have some "flair." I especially love some of the appetizers, including the Scotch Egg, Irish Nachos (using fresh made potato chips), and the fried pickles. The fish and chips is one of my favorites, and includes a very large portion... More

I've been here several times...I like good, authentic irish food, i.e. bangers and mash, shepherd's pie.....The prices for just these two meals is ridiculous. And they weren't that good. The fish and chips is good, served the English way wrapped in newspaper, but again, way over priced. Had a martini, it sucked. Stick to the beer. Also seems to attract... More
