As any local knows, there are several restaurants on the perimeter of what is known s the "Milford Oval". They are not all created equally. One has a well-known local name (The Red Arrow) but in our opinion, is far over-rated and over-priced. We will not return there and do not recommend it to others. Others are just local restaurants... We arrived with a party of 9 and, yes, we needed to wait a while, but once we were seated we really enjoyed the great food, fast service and the prices were very fair. Even as a large group on a holiday weekend (Mom's Day) we didn't feel rushed and the service was excellent. I highly recommend. Food is organic... More

When we walked into this restaurant for breakfast I felt very closed in and wanted to leave, but we stayed. We sat at the counter and were ignored for a good 8-10 min. We finally signaled at a waitress, too much engrossed in bantering with her co-workers to notice us. She screwed up the order, but we eventually got what... More

Be prepared to be dazzled by the vast organic, fresh, local choices at The Riverhouse. Delicious coffee, local farm eggs, breads, fresh fruit--all that you would want for a substantial, delicious meal. If you like corned beef hash and think it will be like you'd get in ordinary diners, think again. The corned beef hash was, by far, the best... More

My wife and I had a great breakfast here this morning. Pancakes are some of the best in southern NH. Local smokey bacon was very good. They serve A&E coffee in a French press as well which my wife appreciated.

When you walk in you make have the feeling you should turn around and leave. Resist that urge! This place is not fancy dining, it is just very, very good food done right. If you are looking for five star service or have a problem being addressed as friend then this is probably not the place for you, but this... More

Great variety of breakfast choices. This is a small town restaurant with friendly waitpersons and no ambiance.

First up, let me state that I am a retired Chef, owned restaurants, was acknowledged in reviews, by professional restaurant critics, for having "exceptional food". Back in January I wrote about this restaurant. Today I visited the restaurant, I arrived late morning on a Sunday, people were waiting outside for a table, I entered and there were a few stools... We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and a BLT. At most places one would come out and say "That was OK". But, at the Riverhouse they turned the ordinary into something special. As advertised, the ingredients were fresh and unique. We are anxious to try other meals from them next time we're in town.

It took 45 minutes to get breakfast, 2 med fried egg, bacon and toast. There was a black curly hair, right on top of the egg - the hair looked pubic, all the staff had straight, long hair on the head. I finally got the young woman to come over and she apologized. She got a new plate, scraped the... More
