EXQUISITE! It should be a landmark :)

It was my first time eating hungarian food and it wasn't disappointing at all! The owner was very polite and serviceable. We were in a hurry, so he rapidly converted our order to take out without any fuss. It was even amazing how all we ordered was ready in less than 15 minutes. We had the sour... read more

As a Hungarian I had to check it out. It was delicious. Worth a stop. I chatted with the owners a bit. I feel bad that I couldn't get back for the dinner entrees.

This place is AMAZING! I have never been here before today, one of my co-workers and I went here for lunch today. She had the Chicken Goulash and I had the Viennese Schnitzel each had a drink and then a pastry for desert all for less than $20.00 combined. The food was phenomenal, the atmosphere was dark, quiet yet pretty... More

I stopped to get a lunch to go and was surprised to find delicious dishes for only $5! I had the beef goulash and it was very good! The cashier didn't smile much, but the food made up for it!

Old world food - the kind your grandmother might have made - at very reasonable prices. Supper for two was less than $30. I highly recommend the zucchini dill sour cream sauce. It's not elegant, but I give this place 4 clicks for value.

The establishment offers good value for your dollar. The menu and food are authentic (we spent years in Budapest so have a fair idea). The quality, especially of the pastries have gone down a bit in the past few years, likely a younger generation taking over. It is still good but was better in the past.

Delightful little pastry shop, with fantastic food. Their breakfast sandwiches are spectacular, and I loved the little sugar crystal lollipop they gave me with my delicious coffee. Should definitely give this place a visit if you're in the area.

Was pleasantly surprised. The food was great! I had the Viennese Schnitzel and my husband had the Szekely both, were excellent dishes! Good size helpings, tasty! and great value! We were actually surprised how inexpensive the bill was. It is casual style but quiet so, you can have a conversation without yelling! The desserts looked yummy and again very reasonable... More

Every time we go to the white mountains we stop at Lala's. I don't even remember how we found it the first time but we love it. Pastries are amazing as well as the cookies to go!! We had breakfast and it's good .. I would like to come back again and try lunch or dinner. The price is right... More

Hate to write this review... but ... my favorite Hungarian dishes were lessened by the apparent (and excessive) use of bouillon cube (or similar) stock. The food used to be cooked from scratch - without the use of such fabrications, and my hope is that the owners see this review and take it to heart and stop using short cuts.... More
