good, varied menu; something for everyone

Very busy local favorite, because it has a widely varied menu that has something for everyone. Fish, burgers, salads, soups....You can get fairly sophisticated fish entrees or your basic burger. Busy but efficient. If you're in the area it's a good go-to for lunch or dinner.

The Puritan Backroom has been in Manchester many years. In a recent mid-week visit for dinner service was slow and meals were lackluster- lamb dish presented in an unappealing manner and while the eggplant in the eggplant parmisian was tasty it was plopped onto a plateful of lukewarm spaghetti in an uninteresting sauce.I will say the Cosmopoltan ordered from the... This is a true local restaurant. Our food was very good, however, the menu has changed and was a bit disappointed as we were visiting from Florida. Had a party of six and waited over an hour to be seated. Server was not attentive and got two orders wrong.

This is our second visit to this establishement over the last few years and was not disapointed. Restaurant was full wait times was 20 min but well worth the wait. Again food and service was great. If you re a ice cream fan for dessert you must try the sundae

I went this place on my birthday and i wasn't impressed the food didn't meet my expectation plus the waitress was rushing everything also she couldn't explained us the portion and sizes we ended up feeling full after eating tenders only & didnt eat anything else. I may go here again but not anytime sooner.

My wife and I recently had lunch at this venerable Manchester eatery which has been around for a long time (now we know why!). A recent lunch of chowder, sandwiches, and ice cream made a memorable meal for us. The corn chowder was some of the best I've ever had, and along with the half turkey sandwich on really good... Great restaurant, diverse menu, avg. pricing. Chicken tenders to die for. A wonderful family restaurant or meet new friends at the bar.

We go to this restaurant quite often, to be totally honest the food is very good to GREAT. But over the past year or so the service has been slipping. At first we thought well everyone has a bad day, or they are just super busy as usual, but it had continued to get worse as time passes. The last... More
