We met family here that we hadn't seen in over 10 years. I picked the restaurant because they have a diverse menu and because they're famous for their chicken fingers, which I knew my tween would enjoy. We arrived a few minutes before 4 p.m. on a snowy Saturday. In the 10 minutes we waited for the rest of our... More

The Backroom has the best chicken dishes anywhere! My personal favorite is broiled chicken in special sauce. You can not describe the special sauce, except to say it is wonderful! It comes as chicken breast or tenders. Try it. . . I know you will like it.

The Puritan or backroom has been a community icon for decades. I have gone to the Puritan for just about everything, meetings, a bat mitzvah, mercy meals, birthday celebrations, graduations, etc. The Puritan is also know for the occasional visit of Manchester native Adam Sandler. If you go to the Puritan be sure to order their chicken tenders ( regular,coconut,spicy,buffalo)... More

Tried out the Puritan Backroom based on referrals from the locals - it is a legendary spot, as I'm told. The service was good and was packed for a random Tuesday night. Food was very good - the mashed potatoes are wonderful! I had their take on Chicken Cordon Bleu and it was very tasty, albeit a bit heavy on... More

Seven of us went there for my Mom's 79th birth-day. We arrived at 11:40 am. We were told they would seat us as in about 15 minutes. We watch as groups of 2-5 were seated. Some were seated and left while we still waited to be seated. After 40 minutes my mother went up asked if they forgot us, He... More

We have been going to and or taking out at the Puritan Backroom for years. I have never had a bad meal in all the years we have been dining there. Going earlier or later as there is always a waiting line, but it is well worth the wait. They also have separate rooms for parties etc.
